So this is the first time I’m going to be totally alone for New Years. Not nice.

Was wondering if there’s any events going on?

I’m also incredibly nosey about what you guys are doing

Nothing! We usually host a house party but it’s expected of us. We didn’t bother last year and all of our friends ended up having no plans, because they didn’t check if we were doing it or not until they asked on the day what time they should come over

I’ll probably be asleep for the bells. So I’ll celebrate whenever we wake up for baba’s first feed

Dependant on work I'll be heading over to see my mates at the towers. They party like it's 1999 every damn weekend and the new year festivities will be no different I imagine.

Unless B makes a miraculous appearance

That's rubbish OP, I hope you find something to do soon.

We're going to be staying in I think. I'll do a mini buffet that we'll nibble on through out the night and we'll drink sloe gin and stay up talking and snuggling. One of us will probably be asleep by half eleven, I'm guessing me.

I'll probably be alone too.

I spend a lot of time alone - I don't have any friends close by and I don't have a partner or children or family.

I've made my peace with it x

On a mooch

My usual NYE is on my own. For me it’s a night of reflection, remembering those no longer with us, what I could have done better in the past year and saying goodbye to toxic elements of my life, a night to truly leave the ghosts and demons behind.

I'm going to a black and white ball at a stately home no less. Sounds posh but in fact and from past experience gets messy

Usually hate new year . Sit in watching hogmanay live on the telly. This year though we're going to Barcelona. Been researching things to do. Got to wear red underwear and eat grapes at 12 o'clock. Looks like lots going on . Can't wait.

It's our first one as a couple. we haven't made any firm plans but I'm thinking a cosy night in with good food, a nice bottle of something and a snuggle on the sofa.

Fireworks look fantastic and party on till 6am. Not sure we'll last that long. Metro is on all night and night buses too so should be easy to get around. It's something different
