So the Liberal party have pledged £10,000 per adult,to use in their lifetime, to have training/education in order to further themselves. (I'm sure theres more detail I'm unaware of).

What would you do, to improve yourself with £10,000 ?

What happens if you don't improve yourself or don't use the money?

good point. I doubt a political party would introduce something not thought out!!!

I would do something that would help me if I was suddenly unemployed... Electrical qualifications most likely.

Can we donate ours to the homeless or somebody that it would make a real difference to? With ours and their allowance they could probably get somebody set up in an appartment and a trade qualification behind them ready to support themselves again.

It's a good answer, as many of us realise it's difficult to get started in life without a home of some description.

Education and development is key in the quality of our lives, but not all of us realise that, or nurtured by parents to do so until it's too late.

In principle I think it's a great idea, and a second chance for many.

I'm lucky and have had a good education, despite my father not wanting me to even sit my GCSEs. But I know there are those who aren't as fortunate. I guess this would benefit people who want to do better but were unable to when they were younger. Or maybe learn things to help their children's education.

Absolutely. Despite negative comments, and the fact it may never happen, it's very clear that once trapped in low paid employment without qualifications, it's hard to get out of that trap regardless of enthusiasm.

I'd go for a horticultural qualification. Alongside another one of the Lib Dem's promises, I'd buy some arable land and get growing

Yes I totally agree with you, it takes a lot of persistence to break the mold. Told that you are a swot or think you are better than them. Or what society has decided your glass ceiling is.

As it's the same party that, whilst sharing power, promised absolutely no student loans, I'd be dubious....

If it were genuine, then a practical course in plastering or plumbing would probably be most useful.

In the job I do there are loads of extra training I could do, Some in £100s right up to £1000s, I would pick a couple of them,

But giving £10000 to every adult would cost trillions wouldn't it ?

I was fortunate in that I went to university before fees and loans came in (read that as being old) but in essence this is similar to them saying they were going to get rid of university fees - how did that work out?

Regardless of politics I believe that education and health care should be free for all - it's called investing in our future generations.

Given the significance of today and thinking of those who gave before us we should think about what we can do for those to come - paying a bit more tax pales into insignificance compared to those who gave their lives but it is the least I can do

Instead of paying more tax how about having a government that puts tax money they get to good use instead of crippling the already crippled tax payer and expect them to pay more..

There is plenty of money but the government takes a big chunk for themselves, throws some money at services and then squanders and wastes the rest and we just put up with it and accept it as normal.

We do get what we vote for..
