No! December is Christmas. Mine goes up 30th Nov ready for the elf to arrive next morning with all the advent calendars, xmas games and goodies under the tree |

We dont even put a tree up anymore! When we did it went up around the 22nd and came down on boxing day.
Partly because Christmas seems to start at the end of August nowadays, so by the time it actually gets to Christmas I'm overexposed and sick to death of it |

"Now dont worry I haven't got my tree up yet BUT I am thinking Dec 1st. Is this too early ?
"
I left mine up because christmas to me is every day.
Christmas to me means to give and not to want anything back for the gifts that you bring |

I so agree with this. Christmas used to be special and I loved it. Now it's become just meh with so many starting about it in November by Christmas time I'm fed up of it. It's a real pity as I use to love Christmas. |

Beginning of December (when we're both free) here. I've started looking at/buying presents now. If you want to do it earlier, go for it! It's such a personal thing and there's no right or wrong way of doing it, just different views. |

Christmas is about giving
I believe in giving every day of the year and my tree stays up all the time . Christmas is about giving to the poor and needy. It is also about re-birth and starting all over again just like New Year, out with the old and in with the New..

If you really want to get in to what Christmas is, it's a warped mish mash of different celebrations. To you, Christmas is about giving. Not to everyone. So yes, I am allowed to get bored of the fanfare of it all. |

"I think people should do what works for them "
I agree. I’ve always been Christmas mad. Halloween I hate, bonfire night I could live without. For me it’s all about the children and as I have a large age gap between mine I’ve always had one who believes and it’s just the best thing ever. It really depends on people’s situations. I’m sure If I had no kids or no family I’d hate it. My friend puts her tree up on Xmas eve. To me December is xmas. I’ve filled it up with trips, grottos, ice skating, breakfast with Santa, winter wonderland. Pretty much everything I could think of. I just love it |

I remember being a kid and there was lots of tutting and frowns in our street when a neighbour put her tree up on Dec 1st. It just wasn’t right/the done thing back then.

I don't trim up until a day or two before personally but I don't see a problem with the 1st of December.
It's the November trimmers I can't get my head around but each to their own, their tree/their choice I suppose... |

My Birthday is at the end of November so I REFUSE to acknowledge the existence of xmas until after my birthday. Generally we will put tree & Dec's up mid December and take them down in the second week of January after we've gone back to work.

There's only me in my house, but although I'm a bit of a Bah Humbug, I make the effort mainly because my daughters, both of whom live miles away, come to visit and they like to see the place decorated.
No one else sees it, as I have very few close friends and I tend to visit them, as I live in the sticks and they get lost coming here |

"
Traditionally 12 days before and down 12 days after...
Used to love it but after being responsible for Christmas..buying ..planning and merchandising..after a few years putting up 17 christmas trees...plus my own and my mums got rid of the whole christmas excitement.

Don't do Xmas anymore.
Got nothing against people that enjoy Xmas. Not looking for sympathy it's just I have no family left and no special someone to share it with. |
