What’s the tell tale moment where you know that person you have been chatting with for a while about an upcoming meet/social is going to let you down ?
I’m guessing this is such a common thing on here, most talk the talk but never go outside the front door to do the walking it seems |

If I get the vibe they're not feeling it, I would cancel first. I'm not into coaxing people to meet me, and i wouldn't continue to bother if I felt they were going to stand me up. I like enthusiasm! |

"For me on Thursday it was when they blocked me on WhatsApp a couple of hours before we were due to meet.
Yeah, I'm not great at taking a hint but that seemed a pretty definite signal!"
Cowards, plain and simple . Have had that happen to me before. Just a simple message to say they changed mind is the very least a person deserves x |

I'm very similar.
I'm quite sensitive to changes in tone in messaging, so I can usually read very well when someone is not really into it. I only want to meet people I'm enthusiastic about, I expect the same in return |

When they go quiet saying they are here just for the forum and then you see a veri
On a serious note. Decreasing frequency of contact, changing vibe of conversation, when they dont want to put thought into planning a meet etc.
Are you ok OP? |

This for me as well. I start to lose interest once I think they have (correctly or not). I like feeling wanted and if I don't, meh. It's only happened twice in all my time on here so that's not too bad. |

When the doubts creep in then you have to ask them are they still interested in meeting as you feel like they have cooled off/stopped chatting etc, some will think you are being pushy but honestly you don’t want to go to the effort of arranging something if you are going to be the only one turning up I use to ask and if I felt like it wasn’t happening then I would just cancel anyway |

On the flip side of this. I really want to meet only to lose my nerve. The meets I have had, have not been particularly memorable for the right reasons. As a couple, I don’t feel the same levels of nervousness. Maybe swinging alone is not for me. I am always honest and communicate continuously however. |

It is so difficult especially when life throws a curve ball and they don't want to tell you, so I let them fade away naturally, I've had friends come back after needing a time out, as I said to a friend on here it is sometimes right person wrong time. |

How you communicated with with each other changes, the tone, the type of message..... I’ve given up waiting for them to say or not, so I’ll either ask directly on or not or just stop communicating all together. Sixth sense not been wrong yet |

When they go quiet you know that they won't show so I cancel the meet. I've had it a few times when guys have been all keen to meet and chatting away you arrange a day etc then as it approaches there is silence. I'll send a couple of messages if there is no reply then I just move on. No point in wasting anymore time on people who aren't interested. |

"This is where verifications come in useful
I don't take anyone without them too seriously to be honest
But everyone has to start somewhere right?"
They do and I understand that but I see so many profiles that have just been set up and then disappear that I decided to only meet verified people |

"When they go a quiet and avoid your messages."
This. A time and date has been arranged, then suddenly silence. Given that, with me at least, it takes awhile to get to the point of arranging a time and date, it's pretty annoying and happens far too often.
What I don't get, is why people bother in the first place. |

I would always end a conversation or what ever with a question, if they dont respond to the question then I would never take it further, for some it's a power trip, as far as I am concerned it takes away any control they think they have.
Play me I will play you better. |

It's something that happens if you try to sell summat on gumtree. An enquiry then nothing.
Folk think things are delivered, with a guarantee.
Or perhaps it's, I don't need to bother as I could have it anytime.
Covetousness and its cycle of wanting something and ensuring you don't get it. |

"From the first message they send!
Some I just know, are going to be timewasters.
It's just a vibe I get.
It often amuses me to play along, just to see if I'm right.
I always am "
I find asking for a face pic in the first couple of messages usually les out the time wasters |
