For those that have tattoos where was it sorest?
I have 2 already but they are relatively small and I found them uncomfortable but not painful.
My next one however will be a lot larger and more detail... I’m stuck as to where I should get it...
Top of Thigh going up or back of shoulder ?? Open to other suggestions |

Every body is different, so although in general tattoos over bone will be more painful that isn't necessarily the case.
If you chose an area where they just happen to catch a nerve, that would be more painful.
I have a large portion of my back, over my shoulders and forearm tattooed. All felt the same to me, a bit uncomfortable but not painful.
I think really, just decide where the design looks best, and go for it. |

I have one on my shoulder blade. Took about an hour to get done and I struggled to keep awake. Only so much you can do when you need to stay laying down still for an hour with relaxing music in the background. |

Soft flesh eg your stomach or your buttock will sting like a mother fucker though as people have said its worst of all when the needle hits bone. I've only got two, one above my breast and one on my arm. The chest one hurt but it wasn't too bad. Make sure you go somewhere well established. |

My back one was really sore, but then I thin the tattooist was a novice at the time, my thigh tattoo didn't hurt when getting it done, but the after mast the Pain was unbelievable, I suppose it just depends on your own endorphins! |

When I had my foot tattoos, the right foot was fine while the left one I thought I was going to pass out.
The one on my calf also hurt like hell and I had to tap out after 3 hours - that surprised me as that's an area I thought wouldn't be particularly painful. I've never gone back to have it finished.
None of my other tattoos gave me much bother more than being mildly uncomfortable |

I have a few including a large one on my back. Sorest part of that one was when he was down near the base of my back and it felt like a thousand bees stinging me lol. Ive my foot, calf, stomach and two inner arms done. Left inner arm hurt like a bitxh. Stomach i thought i was gonna pass out. Rest were grand. As the others said everyone is different x. |

I've only had the one so far. A four hour sitting on my upper arm, the only time it was more painful than the usual discomfort was when it got near my shoulder joint so I'm presuming bones will be the more painful areas. |

Fingers and arse are the worst pain I've felt! I usually do 8 hour sittings for my big pieces (cheaper) but can say at 5/6 hours the pain becomes horrible and I usually start shaking as I'm going into shock! Haha! 4 hours is a good bearable sitting, eat well and drink sugary drinks along with paracetamol and ibuprofen! |

Had full sleeve done, around the shoulder area was the most uncomfortable. Not painful as such but definitely uncomfortable. Actually felt like he’d hit bone on part of it x |

" how long was your thigh piece?"
All in it was around 12 hours, it's a fairly big piece but there's an awful amount of scales on the dragons so took bloody ages on the detail! A friend of mine has a lace design which covers more area than mine on her thigh and bum and it took 4 hours in total! |
