What makes a great subject line

Hey Fabbers

What makes a great subject line that would make you read a message?

I know some would say read the profile to see if there’s a code word but that’s just shit as you’d get hundreds of messages with the same subject line.

What’s been the funniest you’ve had?

I've only looked when I've had a code word.

And honestly, no, not hundreds with the same subject line. Hardly any.

Unless it's awful I genuinely don't care. Work on profile and message before considering subject.

There and to the left a bit

I've just scrolled through my sent messages and the subject lines are mostly the title of a forum thread from which the original message was derived.

Other than that they are mostly unimaginative "Hey" or "Hi" or I got really creative once and titled one "Sunday Missive"

All words I've demanded people must use as the subject when they message me.

And they do.

Oh, the latest trend seems to be stuff like "you don't dare open this message" or similar.

Well, I was going to read it, but...

The “please read me” ones are interesting. Ironically it makes me really not want to read it.

The headline of my profile is exploring.

Once had the subject that said. "I want to expire you"

He got a reply from me as an amusing victim of auto correct. Something like, alright hannibal...

Since I’ve been on here I’ve had about 30 posters ask me if I can have a word with him upstairs.
