A very good friend of mine despises the use of the term "meet" when two peoole from fab decide to get together.

Therefore, i'm putting the challenge out for people to come up with terms or phrases that paints this activity in a more pleasing light. Any takers?

I'll start. Sexy, salacious soiree

Those who are classy enough to want to use resplendent rendevouz wouldn't dream of abbreviating it. The sheer horror of cheapening such an event.

Tbh, it's a phrase I don't really like either.

"I'm having a meet" dunno it just sounds cringey to me.

In real life "I'm meeting up with friends" is a phrase I use often, but the connotation is totally different.

On here, I have people I see regularly, they're not 'meets' they're friends.

I suppose the closest word would be 'date' but without the romantic meaning

I'd stick with meet to be honest. Avoid the connotations that can come with other terms. However doesn't mean it can't progress into other label territory on further meets with the same people if things flow that way. But a think simply a meet for starters does just fine.

To be honest it depends what you’re here for I suppose. A meet is as good a word as any if that’s all it is. I just meant I personally don’t like it and won’t use it. Couldn’t give a toss what everyone else calls it. Like someone said the majority call it that.

I would say do you want to “meet up” for a drink, dinner, sex that kind of thing as opposed to “let’s go on a meet”..

I've used precisely that before.

Calling it/them a meet is just weird and quite clinical

Meal

Walk

Chat

Coffee

Afternoon tea

Hotel bed testing session...?

To be honest it depends what you’re here for I suppose. A meet is as good a word as any if that’s all it is. I just meant I personally don’t like it and won’t use it. Couldn’t give a toss what everyone else calls it. Like someone said the majority call it that. "

Its personal innit, how the fuck would everyone ever agree....?

Ffs. What a waste of time that was then. People were so keen to divulge what they call it as well.

" . Meeting up or even meeting is fine. It’s just “a meet”. Can’t stand it! . Sounds so sleazy and horrid. "

I agree. Even worse when the person is called a meet, rather than just the event.

I meet people, but I don't have meets with meets.

If someone refers to me as a meet or uses the word play that's it I'm done.

Date, lunch, coffee, dinner whatever word you use in normal life.

"meet" is akin to "fun" and "play".

All feel a bit sleazy, but I grudgingly accept they are terms used most often on here.

Therefore, i'm putting the challenge out for people to come up with terms or phrases that paints this activity in a more pleasing light. Any takers?

HATE the term "meet"

Boils my blood when someone says "do you do socials or just meet".

I call them fab dates as that's essentially what they are. You meet someone, flirt with them and may or may not fuck them
