Words and phrases can change meaning over time…. sometimes I am surprised just how quickly.
In what context would you expect the following phrases to be used, what do you understand them to mean?
Bunny boiler.
High maintenance.
Ball breaker.

well unless it's a trick question:
bunny boiler - obsessed person with another person, normally sexually
high maintenance - someone who only likes/wears expensive designer clothes, makeup, perfume, etc
ball breaker - a woman with a man under the thumb
now I wait for your comments which will totally disagree with this lol |

I've heard 'bunny boiler' being used in some interesting ways, generally by people too young to remember the film which inspired the saying.
The other day someone at work was using 'high maintenace' as meaning someone who is over the hill and wears a lot of make-up.
And then the other night I over heard someone using 'ball breaker' as a woman who stops shagging their partner..... which makes some of the dialog in GoodFellas confusing. |

Don't worry, it didn't conclude
It's just really about what you understand the phrases to mean..... and may be if you have heard them being used in a different context.
It did make me chuckle hearing 'high maintenance' used to describe the woman on the Lancome counter; because of how long it must take her to put all the slap on in the morning. |
