The bitterest pill

Lichfield

I ever had to swallow was the day I married my childhood sweetheart, Melissa. She was pretty, intelligent and great fun to be with, the envy of the whole village. The only problem was that I married her to snakey Simon who used to drive the bus route to and from the nearest town. The downside of my job I guess. She was lured away by the bright lights of Rushden, never to be seen again. I hear she's working at Asda on the deli counter now while snakey's been seen helping himself to bakery manager Susan's baps on Melissa’s day off. If only she would have watched those reruns of On the Buses with me, she'd have seen him coming.

What's the bitterest pill you've ever had to swallow?

This wasn’t intended as a literal thread you know?

I was looking for heartache and appealing for empathy.

Ah! Now those are different because they are manufactured with a sweet tasting molecule binder. PS: soluble and effervescent are not the same ... just for the record

So basically, I bare my soul, rip my own heart out for you all to see it bleed and you say “this is a bit better than the ‘say something complimentary about the poster above’ thread?

I’m broken.

But the good news is, you get noticed (without saying "look at me")!

Course if Quinine for malaria. Bad enough with water but if they stick in your throat... the bitter taste remains for 30 to 40 mins.

Do you think I’d have done better if I’d have called it “what’s your favourite bus story”?

I’m still learning.

It was a note to myself. To learn about interpretation. Not attacking you.

The day I left my trumpet on the bus. My mum went mad, luckily (or not) it was there at the bus station still.

I’m led to believe that he spends most of his evenings on the dark web trying to sort that lot out.

Look, if it’s redemption you’re looking for then you’re probably past saving. If it’s confession, you need the other firm.
