I have pretty much decided to completely change what I do for a job, even going to go back to uni to do a degree. I spent years studying for my old career and probably end up doing the same again. With my old career there's no way of transferring my skills over to another job.
Has anyone else done this and if so how did it go. Have you found satisfaction in your new occupation or do you regret the decision. Just be good to hear that it can work out. |

I did it an loved every min of my training I have 4 months left an so excited to work fully in what I do
Only thing I found was uni not in doing it just by the third year I'm ready to work not keep studyin
But it's best thing I've done |

Glad too hear that, I loved my chosen career and would have continued but after accident was impossible. To be honest found it quite difficult to decide what to do as day time tv is dumbing me down and you can only listen to so many reruns off top gear.  |

It can.
I was in my 30s when I went to university.
Hae re-trained again since, and am currently involed in further personal development.
Lifelong learning is fun...

I'm leaving my job after 25 years - have got nothing planned yet but I can't go back to doing what I have been as I'm taking redundancy. It probably means a total career change but I'm coinciding this with moving 175 miles to finally move in with the man I love. So, you never know, I might end up stacking shelves at the local supermarket. It's scary but exciting -the career change, not the prospect of stacking shelves! |

a close friend of mine has switched career twice, the second time involved going back to uni for another degree. both times he has done well for himself.

Yes I have changed careers 3 times. I like learning. In previous roles the work was challenging, stressful. The role I am in now, although interesting, doesn't challenge me enough, its not gritty enough. I will move on but I only finished my exams last July. I will stay in the same field of work probably, but it will have to be a lot more demanding for me to feel comfortable and happy that I am really working hard for my salary |

My biggest worry is not being good at a new career as I was Reuther good at what I did and got great amount of satisfaction from it. I too need to be constantly challenged and push what was possible to do. |
