Hot to have some after some routine bloods showed my levels were low.

Anyone had them?

Been looking at diet choices to naturally boost them but this seems to be a side effect of one of the medications I'm on.

One more kick up the arse to get off the bloody things. I was do close a couple if years ago but I fucked if up.

I have this every 3 months, it aches a bit more than any other injection I have. But it’s nothing major. Nothing to worry about, just go for it.

I've to be tested for this too, potentially another deficiency that could be the underlying cause of multiple physical issues.

I'm got to ask to speak to a nutritionist because I can't help but think there's an unbalanced diet issue under it all.

I've read a few things that suggest things like liver and kidneys, fortified cereals and eggs

Is it ongoing treatment or just short term to boost your levels?

I get these injections, they are nippy when going in, but I feel so much better after until 8 weeks later ido it all again. I have pernicious anemia due to having IBS and the food intolerances associated with that. If left untreated it can lead to serious health issues. Good luck to you all who have this.

You’re highly unlikely to absorb the B12 from dietary sources.

The area of the stomach that absorbs the vitamin is probably not doing so for one reason or another.

Some people find a sublingual form of B12 in the form of a spray or a tablet that is sucked will work, but the injection is perfectly safe and effective.

As above.. Diet will do very little..

12 wkly injection works wonders.. But you will soon realise how well it will make you feel.. Coming to due next I jection you will get tired even mouth ulcers hair loss etc.. Understand low b12 effects.. You can ask for it sooner. Work with your dr/nurse..

I have the injections every 10 weeks and by week 8 I can feel i need another. Simple injection that doesn't hurt or have any side effects other than making me feel alive again.

Good luck

I use a b12/ vit D combined daily spray... You can also get it from fortified food - animals are injected with it, or plant food is fortified

Once you are back to normal levels it might be worth going to Holland + Barratt to look at their supplements

Hope you are feeling better soon

Hope you're feeling well soon.

For others, as our sunlight is now on limited strength, it's worth taking Vitamin D for the winter.

Chat to your doctor or a dietician about foods, it’s possible that you are getting enough and low in something else that’s slowing down the absorption, hence you’re getting it but not using it..

I'm fairly sure it's because of the Metformin I've been on for quite a while but will discuss it with the nurse at my next check up.

I had a course after mine were dangerously low. Also took B12 vitamins and supliments, still do. Did change my diet too and have been happier since.
