Well considering emotional maturity is about being able to handle a situation without your judgement being clouded by emotions (on a basic level, it really is much more complex than that). Regardless of what their emotion may be.
Seeing how people react in situations, some act worse than a child would, while others are able to keep a level head and deal with the situation rationally.
Yes it is a real thing. |

Emotional maturity is the ability to handle situations without unnecessarily escalating them. Instead of seeking to blame someone else for their problems or behavior, emotionally mature people seek to fix the problem or behavior. They accept accountability for their actions.
Yes, it's real. No, it's not a label. |

"??? Is it all just made up bollox shrinks come up with to label sulky people
Also is it important to life"
In simple terms if a situation arises and you can see it from every angle and work through it in a sensible mature fashion then you have it, however if you just see red, throw your toys out the pram or generally go around smashing things up in a brain-fart childish way then you don’t have it |

Emotional abuse is different, that is direct manipulation. It has a little overlap with emotional maturity but due to the direct attack aimed at emotions it would not be classed on either side of emotional maturity. |

Emotional maturity and emotional intelligence are key factors in maintaining healthy relationships—romantic or otherwise. Many people are lacking in these areas, which leads to a breakdown in communication and, ultimately, complications in or even the breakup of relationships. There is no way to navigate relationship politics without these skill sets, yet most people don’t even know what they are or understand how they work—both separately and in tandem. |
