I have my first for the Christmas season after remembrance, so after the service a coffee and a mince pie. It was a tradition with my Parents when I was growing up, that I've carried on into adulthood. |

I won't be allowed until after the hubby's birthday in two weeks time, no christmas until after that. But I like the sainsburys taste the difference ones, warmed up, cut off the top, put in a spoonful of clotted cream and then squish the top back on. yum yum |

I'm not a fan pf the traditional mince pice as I dislike.... Ok I hate mixed peel so I now make my own version with a Tropical theme.
I add pineapple and spiced rum a homage to my Jamaican grandma |

We have already devoured a box of the mini ones and have another stashed away.
I’ve also found a recipe to make shortbread mince pies, so will be giving that a go in the next few weeks... |

"Pineapple and spiced rum mince pies. I am drooling. "
I started macerating the dried fruit in RedLeg spiced rum this evening, tomorrow I'll add the fresh pineapple, apples, brown sugar and vegetable suet. |
