Ok I’m not here to argue for either, I’m here to listen to a balanced debate.

Flat earth red state your case

Global earth state yours

Only 1 rule applies

You cannot dis someone else’s post if you do, it will impair my opinion. Try to prove your point rather than disprove others.

If the earth is flat why has nobody ever reached the edge? And wouldn’t planes reach an edge at some point when flying ‘around the globe’ if it was flat?

It will never be proved one way or the other on this thread. It can't be proved with words alone because for every argument there is a counter argument, it can't even be proved with pictures or video evidence, with all the editing technology available nowadays, we can barely believe our own eyes anymore.

All NASA photos of the earth are flat photos that are then photoshopped into the blue earth marble image that we are all familiar with. There is no photo in existence of the earth taken from space that shows the earth as a globe. Remember Buzz Aldrin getting caught out showing a transparency on the Apollo window capsule, see Bart Sibrel for that one.

Then the rockets you see being fired never go straight up, they have to curve round to avoid hitting the dome that encloses us, hold on so did we go to the moon? How could we have gone to the moon? That's just another disc or is it an artificial entity that the aliens are watching us from?

The Antarctic is the ice wall that holds the water in, it's also why there are no trans Antarctica flights.

All said with tongue in cheek. Drives my son up the wall when I say it could be a flat earth.

And yet there have been countless photos and videos from space of a round earth and not one photo/video of a disc with a dome. How odd?

"It's a globe: fly in an Easterly direction for long enough and you end up where you started having approached that point from the West - Boom! Case for a spherical earth proved."

That gives partial evidence, basically that east-west travel is finite and wraps around, though this could also be achieved with a cylindrical earth.

Much more convincing, now that we have high speed communication over long distances, is for multiple observers to measure the angle of the shadow of an upright stick cast by the sun, at positions across the earth at the same time.

The angles at relative positions not only show that the only possible shape meeting the observations is a (slightly distorted) sphere, but also allow calculation of the diameter of the earth.

The ancient greeks did this, with baseline positions about 500 miles separated north/south, and calculated the size of the earth to an accuracy of about 10% - mainly limited by the distance between the two points basically being measured by walking the route!

It would seem odd that, if the other planets and stars etc are all spherical, that earth happens to be flat per say. But you just never really know tbf. So many arguments, proofs, theories etc for both sides of the question.

It was.for thousands upon thousands of years believed to be flat, now it's not. Stars are always in alignment yet scientist state we're in an outward vortex expansion constantly spinning ?? How is north star always at same point.

All the other planets are spherical. Pour a volume of water into a zero gravity space and the water forms into spheres. The physics of how it holds together determine this shape. It couldnt have formed into any other shape. Not naurally anyway. Slarrty Blartfast would have charged an extra 50% for corners.

To be fair, the moon is the only celestial object on which features can be made out with the naked eye. And the moon looks like nothing so much as a flat circle that is pinned on to the sky; it darkens and lightens but always shows the same features.

The sun also looks just like a very bright flat circle in the sky. All other objects are just tiny pinpricks of light to the naked eye. So really not surprising that the naive observer might come to a conclusion that planets are flat.

When it gradually gets darker in the evening, suddenly there is a large drop off when you can pop to the shop to get some electric then when you get back it's dark.

I think this happens during dawn too?

That's consistent with the earth's terminator line separating night and day on a globe for me.

I honestly thought the flat earth thing was a joke when it suddenly appeared a few years ago. It was quite something when it dawned on me they were serious.

Some very intelligent people believe in a flat earth and I'm fine with them, it's the flaky types who appear on This Morning that you just can't have a conversation with.

Every interview I have seen of a flat earther explaining their belief on it, they deflect every question whenever other areas of science help debunk flat earth (as if basics didn't do that already).

Whenever I've had a debate with a flat earther it has always been a case that they are devoted Christians. They use those beliefs as proof to enforce their belief. "it says this in the bible"...

There was a YouTube vid in that they had 3 flat earthers and 3 respected scientists "debate" the subject, 2/3 of the FE's were Christians and they deflected the majority of questions ask to them, when they did answer it was soaked in emotion and not logic.

The lady on there said she used to be a space fanatic. Went to space camp as a kid, wanted to be an astronaut etc. Then one day as an adult her husband brought the flat earth craze to her attention. She didn't believe it. Years later her husband was murdered. She then suddenly started to believe.

To me, her change of thought is triggered from her grief.

According to flat earthers it's about money for nasa.

Ignoring the fact that there are thousands of scientists all over the world not associated with nasa who agree the earth is not flat.

As I say, a few of their reasons for a flat earth make a tiny bit of sense on a basic level, but they ignore and deflect true proof with bullshit about it being about money and conspiracy theory.

Which goes right back to the downfall of all flat earthers. They ignore proof that is presented across all fields of science that point to a curvature of earth.

You would need to have a car with a humongous wheel base or width to prove that and since the curvatures & gradients are so large and they don't affect your cars wheels being on the ground at the same time.

Unless your offroading, then you can end up with 1 or more wheels off the ground due to humps with steep peaks and a rigid chassis.

If the world was flat & as we see it on a flat paper map, how could you go from Alaska on the far left to Russia on the far right via a land bridge of ice? If the earth was flat you would fall off if you tried.

Russians & Canadians also both travel to the the north pole from different sides of the flat map yet reach the same point at the top, they even leave gifts for the other to find & proof that they've also been there.

The world is really flat, but there is a space warping distortion field that was set up by the aliens that crash landed at roswell. The warping field bends rays of light and the action of gravity to make what is really a mirror smooth polished flat surface seem to have bumps and hills and an overall curvature. There are holograms located all along the edges and teleporter units beam people from one side to the other when they try to go too far...

The satellites only go accross the top of the planet. There is nothing underneath it.

Yes it does spin, hence night and day.

No one knows how thick the Earth is. Anyone that has tried to measure it has fallen off the edge.

It's flat, end of. Proof you can all see with your own eyes. The scientists say that the globe is 27k miles around, so if that is the case the earth would drop away at 8inches squared per mile. Now if you go to places like the salt flats in Bolivia you will see that you are able to still see flat ground over 100 miles away. (on a clear day) that physical proof alone proves the earth is flat. I know its really hard for people to accept because we have all been brainwashed since birth that it's a globe, there is space and planets etc. And it scares people to think we are in a flat stationless enclosed system because it means it has to have been created by an intellectual being. (God) and a lot of people fear this, quite rightly. Because if that's the case then the devil and hell is real too. But just looking at reality with your own eyes isn't going to hurt you.

"How is north star always at same point. "

It isn't. There is usually no bright star that seems to be stationary over the North Pole. We just happen to be living in an era when there is one. But during a period of hundreds of years, it will appear to move more and more out of position. Then, for millions of years there will be no North Star again until a replacement gradually moves into position, for a while. Astronomical time scales are enormous - beyond our true comprehension.

"It's flat, end of. Proof you can all see with your own eyes. The scientists say that the globe is 27k miles around, so if that is the case the earth would drop away at 8inches squared per mile. Now if you go to places like the salt flats in Bolivia you will see that you are able to still see flat ground over 100 miles away. I agree. If we use our eyes the proof is out there.....

I once saw a ship fall off the edge of the Earth. Well, I didn't actually see it happen. I was sitting on the beach in Great Yarmouth watching a ship sailing into the distance.

I popped of to buy ice creams. By the time I had got back the ship had totally dissapeared!

My only explenation would be it fell of the edge of the world.

Open your eyes people. This shit is for real!

"The world is really flat, but there is a space warping distortion field that was set up by the aliens that crash landed at roswell. The warping field bends rays of light and the action of gravity to make what is really a mirror smooth polished flat surface seem to have bumps and hills and an overall curvature. There are holograms located all along the edges and teleporter units beam people from one side to the other when they try to go too far... "

Rubbish! It's all that Dark Energy and Dark Matter that the scientists know nothing about, that makes the world seem to be a globe. We can all see that it's perfectly flat!

Bubbles. Same theory. Otherwise we would be flying about in space.

"A few questions first for the flat earthers out there;

If in fact the world is flat how thick is it?

Does it still spin on a central axis whilst maintaining the angle of 23.5 degrees?

How do satellites maintain a signal when on the underside of the planet?

The satellites only go accross the top of the planet. There is nothing underneath it.

Yes it does spin, hence night and day.

No one knows how thick the Earth is. Anyone that has tried to measure it has fallen off the edge. "

As a pseudo-scientist trained to the highest standards that Google and YouTube have to offer I will require proof of your claims I would like to see a video of you flipping a coin from a starting angle of 23.5 degrees layered with sand on one side rotating at a speed of roughly 460 meters per second or 1000 miles an hour and have the sand stay on (note the sand cannot be fixed or glued to the coin it's own centrifugal force must keep it there)

You can test that by simply putting it in a bottle & spin it, you'll find it stays at the bottom instead of it spraying everywhere.

Honestly, how can the earth be round? Don't believe what the "scientists" tell you, trust your eyes and the wisdom of the ages.

I love watching flat earth videos.

I have finally discovered a place where I feel normal in contrast.

PS--I have only been abducted by aliens 3 times.

And elves are REAL.

Are you saying that the earth is flat AND in a bottle?

Could the earth be pulsing. Sometimes flat and sometimes spherical.. like trying to out up a deckchair on a windy day

Yes exactly! The distortion field and the teleporters run on the dark energy, and the bricks for the wall at the edge are made from dark matter.

I'm 99 percent certain that earth is a disc, carried on the back of 4 elephants which in turn stand on the back of a giant turtle.

Read it somewhere, so it must be true...

No, just suggesting a simple experiment to prove centrifugal force.

For anyone actually interested and wanting questions answered go to YouTube and search markksargent and yes it is spelt with 2ks like that. He has a small collection of short videos called flat earth clues to introduce ballers to the flat earth. Then I'd suggest watching/listening to his interviews where a radio station or someone, normally a baller sceptic, will ask him loads of questions and he answers them all. It's flat people, it's motionless, there is some sort of solid dome cover over it. There is no edge to fall over, it's enclosed! We can't go up to "space" and we can dig down further than 8miles. I hope your alarms are going off because it's time to wake up to the fact we have beeb rain washed and lied to all our lives. X

I put it to you that Earth is a sphere, but hollow. We live on the inside!

In the middle is the sky, with a strong light source.

"Gravitation" is just centripetal force as the hollow sphere spins.

...

...

Makes as much sense as flat

Maybe the earth is flat.

Maybe all you other people don’t exist and this is all in my head.

Maybe if I stand on every crack of the pavement my family won’t die.

Maybe there is a God who built this flat earth with silly science and fact to distract us from the truth.

And Maybe there is an end to Brexit that works for everyone and everyone will be super happy with.
