Dogging season?!

Is it true that with the early dark nights and before it gets brutally freezing now is a good time for a bit of dogging?! I ask as its something I'd always been interested in doing but as a single male ain't always easiest thing to get involved in.. Am I wrong?! Any regular Doggers care to tell me what's what?!

We live in Northamptonshire but haven’t seen any for ages. Just seems to be the MM criteria these days.
