I didn't. The penalty count against them was huge. It's hard to believe this was the same team that only conceded 1 penalty against the bokke in the 1st half.
AB couldn't play their game. That wasn't just the ref being neutral. England played out of their skins, to a man. The would beat any team in the world playing like that. |

Gutted, at work today and just got a break. Great score, looking forward to watching the highlights later.
Luckily I'm not at work for the Final. I love an England final. I remember watching our winning world cup in a pub in Kensington, the whole of London was electric that night, everywhere I went there were people celebrating. I remember the following world cup final too, was in Lincoln at the time, shame it didn't have the same happy ending. |

That actually worries me. I mean I'm sure we'd win but what by some chance we didn't? Every Welsh person I know would be in ultimate smug mode and never let it drop for the next 100 years or so. I don't think I could take the barrage of smugness and gloating. Seriously it'd be the biggest thing ever to them and I'd never hear the end of it. |

Just to add some small perspective - England had two tries disallowed on the smallest of infringements and the Kiwis scored off the only fumbled England lineout.
And sorry Wales supporters the Bokks will be playing England next weekend. Wales were VERY lucky to take the win over France and they have lost some key players this week. |

Safe money on England to win this out now. I think South Africa will beat Wales because of the players Wales have lost. Still hope Wales can win that match though.

South Africa runners up
New Zealand 3rd
Wales 4th

What perspective is that? Kiwis were smashed, beaten and sent home. They were never the team from last time. Northern hemisphere teams have come leaps and bounds in both game play but counter tactics.
Wales played their worse game to beat France and France played their best game of tournament.
I'm still convinced Wales v England final as I'd initially predicted at the very start when the pools came out. |

It was the perspective of an Englishman noting by just how much bigger the scoreline could and possibly should have been: 29 - 0 (if the tries were allowed but were not converted).
Wales or Bokks England have the power and ability to demolish either. |

Welcome to my world this coming week! expect youre disappointed kiwi? "
Oh sure, but totally acknowledge that the better team on the day won. That was a great England performance - right throughout the whole match. |

This match has just proven what many were saying pretournament; that any of the top teams on their day could beat the other, the fact that there was no clear number 1 team has made for some great matches. |

"How long has it been since New Zealand were kept to a single digit score in a world cup game?
Safe money on England to win this out now. I think South Africa will beat Wales because of the players Wales have lost. Still hope Wales can win that match though.
England winners
South Africa runners up
New Zealand 3rd
Wales 4th
What does everyone else think?
Wales to beat SA.
England to beat Wales.
SA to beat NZ."
Not a bad shout either |

I just saw a comment on another site that read; "New Zealand must be sick of seeing England this year but at least we didn't bring Stokes on!"
To my mind, both matches and occasions were some of the best contests I've watched, well done to the ABs. |

He didn’t want to be there really, you can see it in his face and I suppose he had a point, it’s not like NZ didn’t turn up today, they were just outplayed for a change I had to smile though when he said England had only got over the line once which scoreboard wise is true but we got over a few more times than that |

I think the plan with World rugby was a follows:
Wayne Barnes to ensure Japan beats SA.
Jaco Pyper to get rid of France
Jerome Garce to get rid of Wales vs Japan
Jaco Pyper to get rid of England.
NZ to beat a brave Japan in the final.
.......
But it all went pearshaped when SA (despite a strangely biased Wayne Barnes) beat Japan despite having a friendly ref.
Jaco got rid of France as ordered but deliberately got himself removed from the England game by posing for photos which he must have known would get the game thrown to Nigel Owens who can't be bought.
The question is, with the plan gone so horribly wrong, do they keep it alive by eliminating the Springboks tomorrow? Or do they just let the best team win?
Conspiracy theory. Maybe. But it fits. |

I'm not going to defend the 'rugby education outside' comment, which was unprofessional, but I can understand the irritation at the question. It is pretty disrespectful to the players. The ABs definitely turned up but we're outplayed. The 'journalist' who asked that question did it, I think, just to try and wind them up. A bit pathetic and petty in my opinion. |

I would say if you know Steve Hansen then you will understand he has a very dry sense of humour and there would have been nothing more to it than a verbal slap down of a journalist asking a petty question. |

Oh yes, there's no way that was said as an actual serious physical threat, although in this day and age, I'm sure many would have taken it that way. I still don't think he should have said it, but I totally understand his irritation over the pathetic question. |

The way England played yesterday - I don’t think anyone could have beaten them.
However next weekend is a different game and Wales have a massive game to win before they get the chance. |

I think that the scoreline didn't reflect the dominance England had. Those tries were touch and go. 10 years ago they would have been allowed. |

This game is easy for Wales to win. The scrums can be neutralised by either pushing early or pulling back. Mauls can be neutralised by simply running around to the back and joining in from the Springbok side. Avoid turnovers by hanging on for dear life when you're isolated. De Klerk over utilises the box kick so have the othe wing drop back for them and run at them. |
