i don't think i could wish "bad" on anyone.. especially if you have been thru it yourself...

for example, when i lost my job thru no fault of mine there were some who were less that sympathetic (no one of here hasten to add)... but because i'd been thru the pain and anguish i wouldn't wish it on someone else...

sometimes it just pays to be the "bigger person"........

says the person "37 normally going on 12!"

Good point Fabio... recently been messed about by someone who is about to put themselves in a dangerous situation... I am not impressed with their behaviour, but neither do I wish them to come to any harm.

I dont think so, people use karma when really its schadenfreude.

I believe you reap what you sow. The more positive and kind I am, the more good things happen to me. That I believe, is karma.

I believe the reverse is true as well. So karma can bring bad things on those that have not been so good.

Schadenfreude is when you enjoy someone elses pain.

I always think it’s more a form of transference…. it’s easier to call Karma a bitch and divert any attention from yourself being a bitch … guilt free as it’s all Karma’s doing.

For me it's not so much that I get pleasure out of someone else's pain - it's that there is a sense of justice, particularly when someone who has caused another person a lot of hurt by their own selfish actions, is on the receiving end in a similar circumstance. There should always be consequences for cruelty.

Lets not forget that there is a 'good' side to Karma as well i.e. being 'rewarded' for doing good things or being a 'good' person.

my ex that cheated on me twice, the second time just before asked me to put fake tan on her, i refused saying i would mess it up, i seen her during the week after we split with the worst fake tan job ive seen in my life, her friend had done it and because it went that bad she made her stop halfway through, she was wearing a bra too for some reasoon so only half tits done, her stomach was bright white, the tan dark brown, big lines and streaks on arms and legs, was classic.

so i definetally enjoyed that and classic case of karma as the lad she cheated on me dumped her after their streaky date and it was obvious becasue she was a state and couldnt get it to wash off haha

the days after she tried twice (with different products as well so was never going to match lol) and made it worse,

and yeah like ya say they good side to karma as well! but when its something harmless like that, or someone cheating on you and they get cheated on or diteched by them people, then i think that sort of karma is the one to enjoy, not someone getting hurt badly but only someone having something they shouldnt of done backfiring on them when they deserved it!

You would hope that people could look at the way they treated a person and learn from it.. However that rarely happens. However Karma teaches them something in the end...

I don't believe in Karma at all and go with the reap what you sow philosophy. Karma wouldn't have allowed hitler to shoot himself.

As soon as you add karma to the mix you take away free will. In my opinion.

Simply, if there was some great Karma dictating what happens to us we are not in control. I might choose to not Buy the big issue one day, the next thing I'm homeless, when I might have bought the big issue the following day. How does Karma know??

I quiet didnt understand what was going on here. Karma dosent have to do anything with what you all are talking about. Its all about ourself, our deeds, actions.

Its as simple as this 'We reap what we sow' Tomorrow is the consequence of what we think and do today.

Here This think and do are the karma.

An interesting way of looking at it although many enjoy someone's misfortune without knowledge if if they have lived a devout or evil life. Karma is the resulting action of fate's retribution to me and often isn't seen by others. The word more appropriate is gloating.

Karma is an age old philosophy of life. Many have interpreted it differently and some have even used this philosophy for their own material benefits n some even have assumed its a diety.

for karma to exist that would mean there is no need to punish anyone for any crime, it would also mean people's lives are controlled by somebody/thing other than themselves and the choices they make

i suspect nobody would argue for the release of every pedophile, murderer and rapist that is currently in jail which means they dont really believe in karma
