Welcome to Medieval Fab (That's like Game of Thrones time-ish for all of you shit at history).
Husbands murdering wives, mothers killing sons, the Church, the Rise of Islam, The Moors, Byzantium! Catholicism, Orthodox, Vikings! The Crusades! The Mongols..
How do you think you'd fare in a time amongst that lot?
Base it off anything you want..
Any family history to go by as a guide? Rich Merchant? Poor agriculturalist? Advisor? Politician? Any skills you have? Speak a language (let's ignore oleworlde barrier).

I think I would actually genuinely enjoy that job. There's fire, and hammers, and I get to build stuff "
And making torture contraptions which the rich noblemen would buy for entertainment punishing unruly slaves and subjects  |
