Its 4 hours of pure boredom. you have to answer some questions and the worst part is, you have to talk to other people 
And there is always someone there who is an absolute know it all, even though hes there for the same reason you are.
I've done 2 now and I've got another 3 points on there way |

I could have tolerated mine a little better if the trainer hadn’t been so dreadfully patronising. At the end he stated the difference between him and us was that he has observation skills and reacts to the cameras accordingly.
His veiled admission that he speeds undermined the whole course content. |

nobody who drives can avoid speeding it may only be one or two miles per hour but you cant avoid it, you've just been lucky if you haven't been caught  |

Sheer boredom if I'm honest as the two who did mine were patronising which set the tone
Others have done them and the instructors made it interesting so people participated apparently |

Mine was ok... Except for the twat who had to argue the toss on every point, and keep on about how he'd been fit up for hos ticket.
The instructor kept telling him that there's a set curriculum and every time he argued he was just making the day longer. I had a word with him in the break, but he didn't stop.
I learned a couple of new things, and no points so it was worth doing. |

I didn't mind doing mine, I did learn a few things and there is always a twat who thinks he knows better than everyone else and he shouldn't be there.
The ironic thing is that I was on my way to a CPC course(something all lorry drivers have to attend) on defensive driving when I got caught. |

Expect to be shown lots of bends in the road that look perfectly doable at 60mph, but turn out to be 30mph bends..
Because some people are just full idiot when it comes to driving ability.
Expect that one person who asks loads of questions and drags them all out with personal anecdotes that having fuck all to do with driving.
Expect lots of bored people.
One guy reversed into another in the car park at the end of the session I went on.
I also flirted with and was flirted at, by a rather young and sexy looking.. newly engaged young woman!
Anything could happen! Don't expect the last two things.. my course was unusually entertaining. |

I put the limiter on unless on motorway then it's the cruise.

It is easy to creep up over the speed limit at times, even when your paying attention to the road and other users, if you keep up with them, all of a sudden you may be 3-5mph over the limit.
My "friend" has been over the limit a few times in his life  |

I used to be a driving instructor
I applied to be a trainer for the speed awarnes,
But when it was full of the most pretentious instructors i ever met so i never pursued it ,and they did not pay the instructors enought to make it worth your while so the good instructors

I heard a case where someone was stopped for speeding on the way to one of those courses and he was also caught for drink driving.
He should have went to the idiot awareness course instead. |

It was boring and the know it alls made it annoying. But a few of us learned some useful tips.
I think they should force all drivers to do regular refresher courses. |

I've been done for speeding once in my life, about 4 years ago.
I was going so outrageously fast that I had to pay a fine and wasn't even allowed the option of attending a course
