What to visit in London that is unusual?

Jump to: Newest in thread

Morning

Mr P and I are visiting London soon and aside from the main tourist museums etc.... are there any more ‘unusual’ places we should visit?

Has anyone found a kinky museum, a sexy art gallery? We would love to find something like you would i Amsterdam but we appreciate that may not be possible.

Something that we can easily get to within local transport links...

We would love to hear your ideas if you have any.

Thanks

Mrs P x

It would be very unusual if you were to visit London and go to the Eiffel Tower

You guys have all made me laugh

Ever so helpful

And which way would I go to get to these? Left or right? I’d see you chuckling to yourself as you sent me the wrong way

I wouldn't sent you the wrong way! I would draw a precise map with clear instructions going around the parliament straight to my bedroom

Check out Atlas Obscura - a great site to find weird and wonderful places to visit.

Don't know if it's still there but there was agaric bar/restaurant. Run by I think a Swedish couple.

Everything has garlic in it in someway.

Gatwick area

Depending on which weekend you are visiting (1st Sunday of the month) the london alternative market can be fun.

Oh this would have been brilliant!

What a shame though it won’t be them at weekend.

Viktor Wynd's Cabinet of Curiosities out East is pretty pretty great. And rather naughty.

Failing that, the National Gallery's full of tits and bums

There is always the Vagina Museum, it hasn’t long opened, so haven’t been yet, but hoping to pop in (so to speak) at some point....

We went 2 weeks ago and it was... Naff

Not much in there, a few postcards with lady gardens on them. Better off going into cyberdog round the corner and heading to their basement level

Look up the whiskey bar in Soho where there's a secret cocktail bar in the basement accessed via a hidden door that's bookcase...
