Have you called them for a renewal offer? If you are going by the letter they send, it is always more expensive than if you call on the day

Hiya , yes this is the final quote ,after 5 phone calls , lol, they are just not interested , so i've ,got 4 other quotes from other firms £150 cheaper , same protection and cover , it just don't make sense how the big differances in quotes stand up ???

I always used to use A Plan Insurance when I ran my own car and found them to be very competitive. We don't use them now as we're on Siren's insurance for her car.

I am with Hastings, been with them a couple of years. Last year my renewal offer seemed high, so I looked on the comparison sites and found one about 25% cheaper.. with Hastings. I called them and they said they could not match the offer as it was a discounted product sold through the comparison site. Their advice was not to renew directly, but with them through the comparison site, which I did.

Go figue that one out!?!?

I had this with Direct Line, moved to Churchill, which is their sister company, got it for the same as the previous year! Just swap between the two every three years or so, seems to work!

When they do the 30% crap on me, I just tell them that I am a year older, as is the car, and I haven't claimed, so why punish me?!

Madness. It makes one wonder who's running their own company - them or the comparison sites.

Ooo interesting, I'll bear that in mind as we just switched to direct line

Our renewal was going to take us to over a grand so I shopped around and saved over 400 in fact I could of got it 600 cheaper but it didn't have everything I wanted and the excess was daft

Yeah , Back Britain buy British , and get ripped off , lol, i just wonder why these days these firms dont look after their existing customers anymore , i've noticed it on most other service firms too, gas , electric , sky , virgin ,e t c , they offer new customers a better deal than customers that have been faithful to them for years ???

"Ade.. As its a Landrover, have you tried NFU?"

Hiya , yeah , i've also tried , low mileage firms , i dont use it as much as i used too, as it's far to heavy on juice , i love it ,but i'm thinking seriously about getting an electric smaller car , i think this is the govenments aim , they want to price the cost of motoring to high,so's to change things by stealth , there is no way that6 the regulators of insurance can be doing their jobs right , it's a con ..

I have heard there are pay as you go insurance policies that are cheap for low mileage. I believe they fit a tracker to your car and you only pay per mile you travel

Seems all insurance companies don't like loyalty, every year I shop around for all the insurance policies and get better deals often with the same company with the same package. this year I halved my house insurance and got accidental damage included next year I will probably have to move it somewhere else again. Only one that seems constantly good is Ebike for the bikes, Ecar isn't!

WEll it would make more sense , like anything else why have to pay when it's not being used , unless it's just for theft purposes ,storage etc ..

I have a fleet policy - has gone up £200 in four years and I have nine vehicles insured. I even get to drive any car not belonging to me fully comprehensively.

Anyone with an Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato I can borrow for a day or two?

my insurance went from 500 to 1200, then they said they could do me 800, so i told them to stuff it.

got an offer from a comparison site, with the same insurers, for 300, but went with another company for a little more out of principal.

oh, and bike insurance renewal just came, up from 110 to 170, change of biek, down to the same as last year, on t'interweb, 70 for the next year, so thats what im having...

always shop around. have never been with a company for more than a year.
