So typically 5 days before my holiday i come down with cold. Happens every time i swear.
So my question is... as there is no cure for a cold do you think its better to leave it drug free to run its course and hope its a light one or should i drug up and hope it clears it quicker? |

Vitamin C |

I'm regret to inform you that there is absolutely no evidence (past anecdotal) to suggest that vitamin c has any bearing on the course of a viral infection. Vitamin c is an antioxidant and is used to soak up free radicals in ones body.
The best thing for a cold is hydration, food and mild analgesics to help ease the symptoms. Why suffer in discomfort when you dont have to? |

Stick to matural anti inflammatories. Ginger is the best if you can stand the taste.
The good news is its takes the body about 5-10 days to fight off a cold |

"Pure orange juice and eat lots!! Feed a cold starve a fever
That old chestnut
Works like a dream tho "
But not backed by any medical science and most recent research shows that you should feed both |

"Regular paracetamol, lots of fluids, honey and lemon in boiled water is good.
I hope you feel better soon "
This is my remedy too. I stop having a cuppa and will always have hot honey and lemon in my hand, usually with no voice.
Hope your feeling better in time for your holiday x |
