There do seem to be quite a few with limited brain cells so I’m thinking a high proportion of Mail/Express/Sun.
It’s always refreshing when you find someone who can have a conversation. |

I think its quite useful to read a good cross section of the press. Sticking solely to or dismissing one source completely wont give a good picture of what's happening or of what other people are thinking |

I read the comments and I know that if I disagree with the most popular comments, I am doing well in life

Not even kidding
If I find myself agreeing with the most popular comments I question everything I’ve ever known |

I read the Daily Mail and shop at Asda sometimes. That makes me a dimwitted chav allegedly. If other people judge on such trivialities, I hope I never meet them. |

This....I don't read the Daily Mail....not do I make sweeping judgements on people because of what they read....
Be it the Mail....Sun... Mirror... Guardian...The Canary...Guido Fawkes....Skwawkbox |

So what can you read that gives a balanced view?"
I admit it, and I don't give a toss who feels I am less of a person and my opinions and views are less valid. |

I read it at my mums house, I read, watch and listen to other news sources too but not as many as Mr N.
Nothing you read will give you a balanced view, the best you can do is read as much as you can and form an opinion from that |

I shop anywhere I am passing at the time. I am personally not a fan of Aldi or Lidl, but that is just personal choice of available goods in there, not my judgement of the type of shop. |

The only time I read a paper is in the cafe then I'll read any shit that is there. I stopped buying papers years ago when I realised that any story, that I had first hand knowledge of, was completely mis represented. |

I sometimes read daily mail articles, the same as I ready many other news sources both main stream and indipent from across the spectrum of political affiliation. I think its important to have a varied diet of news. I even watch RT news (or question your own Governments and leadership but never Putin channel). Just because a news source from a different perspective from your own and/or inaccurate doesn't mean it's not useful to get a grip on the world and understand others perspectives.
I think there is a kind of ignorance in choosing only limited news sources you agree with. Just turns the world into a huge echo chamber. |

That's a rather sweeping statement, isn't it.
That readers of those newspapers could possess limited grey matter?
I've read the Daily Mail for over 45 years but I can see life far away from what they spout at times and make up my own mind!
I've also run my own business successfully, plus worked in high level Management roles in companies, with multi £m turnovers and linked budgets.
So, really, am I one of those linked to limited Brain Cell capacity?
Unless of course, it was a throwaway tongue in cheek comment? |

If you can't be arsed to stay ahead of the times, I find it quite shocking no matter what paper you read IF you read any in fact! Who the hell doesn't want to know the news around the globe, those who say they don't read the papers, are bloody ignorant in my opinion! |

I have all the reasons to hate it, but I think it's good to use varied media to find a balanced view of how they can tell the same story differently for example? Just having a critical eye, but still informing yourself, even if you don't agree with it or it boils your blood |

So...
If you have political views surly you would read the Observer (Guardian) or The Telegraph.
Times readers might be a touch bi.
The rest... tabloid readers.... just want to read the 'gossip'
Provocative? I hope so |

We're so polarised. I'm just as bad. I had the grump this morning and bit at two posts that were angry opposite views to mine which I shouldn't have done.
I hate the Daily Mail, but I fully understand why that bunch of readers hate the Guardian.
99% of us just care about paying our bills and looking after our friends, family, kids, pets, car.
I reckon we're just being played.

I do think we're very divided at the moment and it's really disgusting to watch.
I am not a daily mail reader but I wouldn't jump to insulting somebody who was.
That's the trouble - too much talking over one another and not enough time to listen to one another without getting agitated. |

That's nice and all, but what if you find the political opinions and behaviour of the Daily Mail (for example its constant fearmongering about immigrants) abhorrent?
There are things it is legitimate to get 'agitated' about. |

For the record - I do find fearmongering around immigrants abhorrent but I still think - where feasible - it is nine times out of ten more useful to talk rather than argue.
I believe it's of greater benefit to educate where possible.

Agreed but I think the Daily Mail is one of the worst culprits for creating division. Though I'm not surprised considering who runs it. It's always those hoarding all the wealth telling us to blame one another for our problems. Funny that. |

People tend to only read sources they broadly agree with. Lefties read the Guardian, conservatives the Telegraph etc. That’s why some people who shout about the news often just live in an echo chamber. Pretty much the same thing applies to Facebook and Twitter. |

Yep. I'm intolerant towards the kind of hard right opinions that you find in the Daily Mail.
I don't get this idea that political opinions are just things to be accepted, as if they were of the same moral weight as someone's favourite type of music or author.
Politics shapes lives. If someone supports a newspaper that spreads hate, I don't see why I should have to shrug and tell them it's fine. |

I read the mail online in work.
I like to see how many spelling mistakes and grammatical errors the reporter has made.
Also I like their style of lazy journalism, often getting the name of some one wrong, or putting a picture up of some one completely unrelated to the story. |

I read the Daily Mail every day. I like to keep abreast of what irks the racists. 100 articles on brexit and how it will affect us: 1000 comments. Meghan doing anything...10,000 about the ",ghetto princess straight out of Compton with the ginger minger".
Makes me feel all fuzzy inside...not! |

That’s unfortunate. I have some strong political views but I do have the ability to shrug and accept other people’s. Although I do now accept that yours is a very common view amongst certain political party supporters. |

I ask because I recently have been looking at a money website called This is Money and was amazed by the comments posted by 'readers' and I now find out the website is part of The Daily Mail.
I have no issue with anyone who has a rational and well constructed opinion whatever their persuasion. But so much of the comment is prejudiced and bigoted. Everyone seems to be saying " Obviously I am right and you are clearly too stupid to understand the issues" |
