Yep, much as we think ourselves unique, we are but a tiny drop in the vastness of the universe. What happened here to create life has happened thousands of times over. Many species will have flourished and then become extinct, some will still exist, some are yet to be. |

At the very least there will be singular cell organisms... maybe not life as evolved and complex as ours but equally we are a young civilisation in cosmic terms so there has been ample time for other forms of complex life forms to evolve. |

In our solar system? Possibly Jupiter moons. Although according to the BBC a few weeks back the Israelis crashed a lander on the moon which was carrying organisms that may survive in a vacuum. |

In November 2013, astronomers reported, based on Kepler space mission data, that there could be as many as 40 billion Earth-sized planets orbiting in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars and red dwarfs in the Milky Way, 11 billion of which may be orbiting Sun-like stars. So I guess there's a chance..lol |

Life, yes. In my opinion there is never any doubt considering there are new life forms on earth being found all the time (micro organisms etc), and that it is possible for life to exist at the deepest parts of the ocean, is it such a stretch to believe that life of some form exists on other planets?
The better question is, is there a lifeform/species/alien out there that is at or beyond the evolution and technological stage of humans? |

Of course. We as humans think we know everything and try explain things in terms we understand. Yet cant explain how the pyramids were made or what's at the very deepest point of our oceans. There must be life out in the cosmos something that large with a multitude of planets and stars. I dare say it may have already visited us and has been swept under the carpet by the government. Who knows? |

No, Are some confusing solar system with the whole universe?
Our solar system is our own little group of planets orbiting the sun, nothing more & chances are the answer is no although a couple of the moons of Jupiter seem likely candidates to prove me wrong

Considering the size of the known universe, it seems a little arrogant to assume we are somehow special.
Almost certainly there's life.
From microbes to live so far in advance of us we cannot even comprehend what it is.
Probably all on fab, somewhere though |

"I am amazed that most of you never read my original point I said in our solar system, yet so many of you have responded about the universe?????"
True, but bacteria has been found on mars before. And there are organisms know as tardigrades in our solar system. |

There are signs of water on other planets in our Solar System so it has potential for life. Life though in terms of a living organisms, not intelligent life.
So personally it's a Yes in my view.
In terms of the whole universe which everyone seems to answer then I think it would be foolish to assume there isn't life elsewhere, the universe is uncomprehensibly huge and growing all the time.
I watched TED the other day and more of a mind boggling question was "Why does the universe even exist?" |

"Is there life in our solar system beyond earth?"
Not sure, but I don't agree with polluting other worlds sending nuclear powered robots like the one being planned for titan, |

I think yes 100% there is life on other planets.
Considering if what they say is true? There are more planets in the universe than grains of sand on all the beaches in the world and around this stars there are planets... So just imagine the posibilities of there being another planet with intelligent life, considering the sun is an average star. |

How did we miss this lol.
I'm not so sure about our solar system. |

Given how quickly the first life developed, following the comets carrying the necessary ingredients for life, hit the earth it would be ridiculous to think life hasnt developed elsewhere |

The earlier comments re mars microbes... That news has since been proven to be wrong. Was all over the news at the time tho eh...
Finding, even microbial, life, which I think is what the OP was getting at, proves a second "genesis" moment. It changes everything.
Mentioned my favourites earlier. We explore Europa mid next decade.
Intigued to see what OP thinks...

Other than on Earth, life or evidence of any sort of life anywhere else in our Solar system, Galaxy or Universe has not been found. Therefore no-one can claim there is life beyond our Planet. However if the question were a trick one, there are people orbiting Earth in the Space Station beyond our Planet, so yes is the answer. |
