Hi ladies ... Anyone else feel completely and utterly drained and fatigued after taking the combined contraceptive pill? I started taking a brand called Yasmin last week and I have never felt so drained in my life (I can only liken it to how I felt in the early stages of pregnancy). I slept for 9 hours last night (unheard of for me) and woke up feeling so drowsy, as though I’d been sedated overnight !
I’ve googled it and apparently it’s common... just wondering about others’ experiences? |

I was on microgynon for years. Felt like crap. Then I switched to cerazette and felt amazing. Even lost weight. Now I'm on the implant, my 3rd one now so this is my 7th year with the implant. Never had an issue. I've heard a few people say yasmin didnt agree with them. Might be worth a trip to drs to discuss other options. One will work for you. |

I was on it years ago but had to come off it because it made me very angry, I didn't suffer like you are though, I would say give it a little while though as side effects do calm down after a while.
I can't take combined now so on the POP pill and the side effects of that took 6 months to go but I persevered.
Ask your doctor/clinic next time you go if it's worth persevering or to try something else.
Best wishes x

I used to take cerazette but it made my skin horrendous - apparently a common side effect of the mini pill! I feel like I’ve tried every which type of contraception and none of them agree with me l. The joys of being a woman ... |

Have you tried the mini pill? It’s not a combined one. I’m on that it’s great. Had no side effects and no periods either |

Yes, the mini pill made my skin horrendous! It’s sort of a case of which awful side effect I’m most able to put up with I think |

I cant take the pill in any form. For whatever reason every one I've tried makes my depression flare up and the bouts last longer.
Not had that problem since swapping to the depro injection thankfully. |
