Curveball and I had a great time listening to your fab suggestions for an eclectic music mix.
Highlights for me were Louise and the Pins, Gin Wigmore, Chip Taylor and Feargal Sharkey of all people.
Time for some more tunes now. Hit us with your recommendations old and new, obscure or mainstream. There's no rules. No genres, no boundaries. Post the Artist and title and a youtube link please.
I'll begin with this song that starts out as a country pop song and ends like a 90s grunge track.

She Drew the Gun, Poem

This is great, really great, Kate Tempest could have written these lyrics... |

I'll stick these on in a bit. I adore Madness, but I've never given Suggs'solo efforts a go...
Currently got Doves on. Caught by the River. I find it very moving.

Awww Mazzy Star! Love this tune
Did you like the other one?"
John the Baptist? I gave it a spin, but wasn't in the mood for it. I've got John Martyn on a list that says Cat must try harder to listen to these artists. |

Not a band I'd heard of before but with a name like it I had to listen and loved it. A sort of psychedelic Oasis |

My iPod the other day randomly played the following back to back:
Mr Blue Sky - ELO
One Step Beyond - Madness
Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps - The Simmertones
My smile was a mile wide at the end of them, and put a spring in my step for what turned out to be a pretty crappy day |

Do you know, as patriotic as I am, I have a thing about so many bands over emphasising their Scottish accents just now! Feels like there's a lot of it at the moment and it really grates on me |

take that back!! It's their throne all these usurpers are trying to take . I like Belle and Sebastian, Arab Strap etc, it's not hearing the accent that bothers me, just when it seems put on like they've thought I'm getting in on this gimmick |
