Hi members, I have a tradition during the month of October Shocktober where I will watch a bunch of horror films I've never seen before (Not the likes of Porn Of The Dead etc) Some of these horror films attempt to scare so much that they end up sometimes more funny than scary, instead of the desired effect that would have the viewer cowering with fear under the sheets scared sheetless. What do you guys watch that scares you.

So far I've watched

Ghost Ship (2002)

Scream And Scream Again (1970)

The Lazarus Effect (2015)

Rings (2017)

Oh sorry I thought IT is a film about Information technology, then I remembered this one, it was about a clown. And Tim Curry really was spicy scary in the role. He's also excellent in Clue as the butler. Give Clue a view, there's nothing like it out there, until they make a remake, sequel, reboot.

Can't think of many in particular but the older films have more suspense and make me jump more.

Newer films seem to be all about special effects.

The Omen films.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

True and not true, maybe some of the older films (not all) seem frightening at the time, but when you view them now they seem quite tame in comparison to something modern like Lights Out or bake off. Given the omen is still quite spooky now.

Original nightmare on elm Street and candyman terrified me as a kid

Eli roths clown

Lost boys is still the best vampire film.

The evil dead films, bit slap stick but great. If you like them then watch the series Ash vs the evil dead.

Sinister films

I don't get scared easily, especially with horror films. However The Blair Witch Project, got to a very Primeval part of my psych. It really freaked me out, so much so I enjoyed the uniqueness of the terror I was feeling.

I have never seen Pet Cemetery, but I've been to a pet cemetery. No weird circumstances, just sad passing of a pet few years ago.

Don’t ever watch Pet Cemetery, I love horror but have only ever seen it once, I just can’t watch it

Hereditary is probably one of the modern horrors I have seen lately

Now I'm like a kid who's been told not to do something. Now I'm more intrigued then ever to watch pet cemetery.

I dont think I've ever seen a horror film that's actually scared me but The Descent came close.

Triangle is also a good one. I watched that over a year ago and still think about it...

the orphanage was fine, but let the right one in was about a girl who gets a taste for blood or something and there is a lot of snow and it was fairly slow, considering it high status it's left me underwhelmed. But eyes without a face comes on film 4 from time to time and the enigmatic Spanish film the hidden face is one of the best discoveries of the year for me personally, got to say they are perhaps more suspense than horror.

Triangle was a intriguing watch, but the story seemed to go round in circles (people will see what that means if they watch it) The Descent is one decent flick and can recommend it as well. For a real scare check out 1979s when a stranger calls. saw that about 5 years ago and wasn't expecting so much from that one other than it being a Halloween meets Friday the 13th vs elm street clone, but wow I was wrong, and little do people know in the UK that there is an unsolved case in America which echo some of what happens in the first 20-25 mins of the film, just to make it all that more unsettling. BOO

The hidden face was also re made by Bollywood titled Murder 3 Directed by Vishesh Bhatt so you can see it in Hindi as well as Spanish and if hollywood do their own version we will get the English version. Lets spread the word about this film.
