As the title suggests really, is anyone a lawyer? I need a bit of advice or has anyone ever approached an ombudsman? What was the process? And did it help? Thanks

I'm not, but getting legal advice online is a bad idea.

Ombudsman type services are impartial and supportive.

From the financial ombudsman to the health ombudsman I’m sure people will have had different experiences.

Might also be worth having a chat with the local citizens advice bureau

My advice for what its worth is the less dealings you have with lawyers the better off you will be.

Many are just sharks and only interested in lining their very very deep pockets...

Depends on your situation OP, which ombudsmen would you be requiring? I used to work alongside the financial ombudsmen service and have dealt with the telecommunications ombudsmen before now.

You need to have completed the various other complaints process and such in order to receive support from the ombudsmen. It’s a final independent service designed as a method to ensure things are correct and fair... having said that even then it’s more a suggestive ruling on their part as oppose to a guaranteed outcome.
