Consider using hostels.
We all have this idea that the holiday will turn in to a horror film if using hostels but there are actually some very nice ones, particularly if you are opting to choose a spot on the med or see multiple towns/cities.
Another option is camping. As with hostels, it is again generally cheap and cheerful and you will find a sense of community and probably solo guests too.
Depends what you want. Spain and the south of France are both pleasant for solo travel - in my honest opinion, if you want a beach holiday and you are going solo, while there are plenty of other countries to choose I would have to recommend those two in particular. |

"You just book with the normal travel companies...do they offer much discount or anything for single travellers? Enjoy your R'n'R "
Best bet is to book flight and hotel separately, unfortunately package holidays do not cater for the solo traveler or if they do the cost is overpriced!
Airbnb is your friend along with find a hotel and go directly to them.
Skyscanner, and or the airlines direct website is your go to, I got a BA Business class return flight to Barcelona for £160!
Shop around, look on trip advisor, join solo travel pages on facebook and get out there
I have seen a cruise I'd love to go on alas, I need another person as the costs are ridiculous for one |

I do this a lot. As others have said Airbnb is great. I have been to Paris, Rome, Berlin and Florence earlier in the year, I was in Budapest last weekend (crazy party town, especially the ruin bars) and am going to Seville next month. If you plan ahead you get really cheap flights. Once you’ve done it you’ll realise how easy it is.
Or
Just leave it a few months and go skiing !! |

"Try Canary Islands. I've been travelling on holidays on my own for past 10 years. It's great "
Yeah I'm looking forward to it...being able to do what I want to do when I want to do it. Will definitely look at Canaries for next time |
