Try some memory foam insoles, if they're your posh shoes. Though would say try wearing heels all day at work lol

Smart shoes are like anal, slowly to start and lots of ummmm..... ...polish to make them supple.....

(Boots man has a good point too, although boots are only really ok for winter)

Silicone heel rub before you put them on, or beeswax. Reduces friction

I love my doc marten boots and shoes. However they are not kind to feet for the first four months or so.. A good friend recommended rubbing Neatsfoot Compound into them and wow- this stuff really helps softening and protecting leather.

You're supposed to take your smart shoes off before putting your heels on.

I'll try that, the compeed/boots blister plasters lasted 10 minutes.

Just around the corner

It can depend on how well the shape of the heel matches your feet, although I’ve always found it more of a problem with boots.

Decent quality shoes shouldn’t really cause you any problems though.

How do you mould them into footwear? Do the peanuts ever get stuck in between your toes

Yep I normally wear a decent chelsea boot when I'm out but they play hell on my heels if I do a lot of walking in them, especially since I've currently got plantar fasciitis in both heels! I bought a pair of Sketchers recently for every day use though and they are the comfiest trainers I've ever had, my feet don't hurt at all in them. Shame they aren't smart enough for social occasions.

I thought you were talking about smart shoes as in smart phones, technology.

Smart shoes yes they can be killers. I feel your pain.

It took me ages to realise

my right foot was wider than the left. I went through so many shoes.

Now I always try the right one on in the shop first.

You just have to find the right brand... Shoes are made on something called a "last" it's like a mold.

Once you have found a company that makes shoes that fit you. Stick with them chances are they will us that "last" for all the manufacturing for years.

And buy shoes as late as you can in th day.

Your feet swell up during the day. Alot more than you would think it can even push you into a another shoe size

Thanks for all the helpful advice, if I land the job I might look for a good comfortable pair and get some beeswax too
