So... Brainstorming. What do you like to receive for Christmas? Stuff you really enjoy having or using? Things you recommend, maybe can't quite justify buying normally?

Stuff I want, and maybe a few surprises I wouldn't have thought off from the people that know me.

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

I like to be surprised. But, I have a small family. My parents always ask what I want, and I never know, and when I do think of something they go and buy it.

My dad is 81, and I've got to the point that for birthdays, Christmas and Father's Day I now buy him something that I want to inherit back in a few years' time

For me I like practical things, stuff I'd use.

A food hamper, hair products, clothes.

As much as I adore things I wouldn't purchase for myself, I appreciate things I need that way it gives me a little breathing space with wages so I'm not stressing so much about having a day off sick if I'm unwell.

My recommendations are Lush lip scrub (the seasonal Sugar Plum Fairy flavour is excellent and provided you don't just eat it, it lasts a long time), Soap and Glory body scrub (personally I like the Call of Fruity one), Hand Food or Heel Genius.

I dont like getting presents. If I want something I buy it when I want it. If I dont want it, it is just clutter that screws with my head. Stick to beer and vodka, even then buy what I buy dont go getting one I won't like...

Yours sincerely

I don't do flash or fancy and prefer something more personal rather than materialistic.

Something like a knitted hat or scarf actually made by the person giving it to me.

Best card I have ever received was hand made and tailored to me.

It means far more to me than any shop bought stuff.

If in doubt, buy me a CD. Thanks in advance!.......

There and to the left a bit

Can very rarely think of things I'd like and things I need I've usually bought for myself anyway.

I actually quite like when people buy me things they think I'd like without me having asked for them.

My Mum is pretty good at finding things I never knew I'd want - and usually don't even once I open them - two examples being a suit carrier which caused a frown when I opened it, but got widely used when I travelled a fair amount with work and a bottle opener in the shape of a door key that has been invaluable down the years.

I have got most of mine now. I tend to buy things like.

Stuff from the body shop/lush.

Nice lights for gardens.

Alchohol.

Scented candles.

Fancyfood things. (Especially for vegan friends)

I struggle with teenagers the most. Because they're all about the tech. So they tend to get money/sweet treats or iTunes vouchers.

Love this reply! Food hamper would have to come in a wicker basket - picnic type. I do like a basket.

I'm doing handmade hampers! All ready got a stash of handknitted socks. In the colours everyone likes. Home made jams. Will be doing handmade bathbombs and chutneys. Along with papercrafting the gift tags, cards and wrapping.

I sometimes think it’d be easier to say what I don’t want! If my brother in law happens to read this then I really don’t want any CD’s! I’ve been streaming music for years and don’t have a CD player in the house anymore. Thanks.

I’d like a groupon or living social gift voucher for a decent restaurant or maybe a gin tasting experience.

Socks and Kiehl’s toiletries are a winner and tickets to any test match next summer would be perfect.

Finally I’d like Emma Watson in lingerie in my bed on Christmas morning with a naughty glint in her eye.
