I don't know if off-putting is the right sentiment. I just meant that sometimes when initially chatting with someone who has a close-up avatar, I can't seem to get beyond the fact that I'm chatting with a cock, a tit or an arse, as it's that visual you see first with each message they send, and when you haven't had any other interaction with someone, that representation seems to become fixed in my mind... a bit like a mascot maybe. If a conversation is good and a connection develops, that can fade and you start to see the person as a whole (not hole... That's another issue completely ), but in the initial stages that visual is who/what you are talking to (or has messaged you).
Not sure if I'm articulating my thinking well enough, but it has made me giggle on occasion |
