No. Put butter, eggs, caster sugar, lemon zest and lemon juice in a bowl on top of a pan of simmering water until melted, leave to cool then sieve into a jug then decant into a jar. |

I (Luke) love mince pies but am prone to overdo them.
I don't know if Hannah has had one (they may not be a thing in the US) but I'm pretty sure she won't like them because she doesn't like raisins. |

Love them, used to buy the cheap ones from lidl/Aldi, thought they were great. One day I decided to buy the specially selected one's with cognac and suddenly the 'delicious' cheap ones had become terrible  I wish I hadn't bought the dear ones because it changed my taste buds and now I'm more out of pocket |

Home made ones with puff pasty are lovely.
Shop bought ones tend to be stodgy.

I really like the Aldi "Holly Lane" ones! The pastry is nice and short, the mincemeat is a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, and they're nice and deeeeep!
That being said, I haven't tried any super-posh ones. I may well end up going the same way as you if I do... |
