They need to sort out the essential services that are under funded and under staffed before adding this to an overstretched and imho unnecessary repertoire
I'll have a word with Simon Stevens today and give him a bitch slap |

I'll have a word with Simon Stevens today and give him a bitch slap " That is also right as they need to spend it on those services that needs to improve before adding others that is not as important |

Unfortunately saw it first hand with my son, but agree that the NHS won't be able to afford to do anything about as mental health issues are severely underfunded as it is, with much more serious things to cope with |

They are treating the addiction like they do many other addictions. The fact that they have acknowledged that people can get addicted to computer games is not really the point. |

Do they do anything for fab addiction?
On a serious note this is quite a worry. I don’t know anything about gaming, never been into it.
Do you think it’s more prevalent with boys? I notice my nephews are always on Xbox, phones and handheld game things. I have girls and although we have an Xbox and Nintendo’s etc they are very rarely on them.

It may seem more prevalent with males due to the make up of online games/gaming in general which has been more geared towards the Male audience. However it is not gender specific as their are more females affected due to the gaming industry having more inclusive roles and games that are geared towards them.
I'm not going into specifics here, but this has actually been an ongoing issue since 2008 that was finally included in the DSM manual in 2018. |

I personally think it's a good thing, loved gaming in the 80's & 90's and spent a lot of time doing it but never saw it as an addiction. It obviously is a problem nowadays or the service wouldn't not be required. I think anything that helps young people is a good thing. There would have been a time when they said fags & booze weren't in need of NHS support as well I'm sure. |
