First thing to remember is. You got an interview so, they want you for the Job.

Second thing, listen to the question and only answer the question. Don't go off on a tangent.

Third thing, give examples of what you have done in answers.

Fourth thing, sell yourself. Show how good you are at the Job. As I said they already want you because you've got an interview. The only reason they may give it to someone else is if that person sells themself more than you.

Fifth thing, you have nothing to loose, so don't be nervous.

Sixth thing, even if your not successful, you've gained exsperianced of an interview.

Good look your will be great

Research the company your interviewed by so if they ask you what you know about them you have a good informed answer.

Eye contact, be personable, stay focussed on questions asked of you and don’t go off on tangents, however have something to say and don’t one word answer things.

Hold yourself properly when you sit, good posture, don’t cross your arms it’s bad body language.

Don’t be boastful, pass yourself off as capable but not ostentatious.

Don’t ask about pay, holiday etc as it’s not a good impression and is something you should already know via research

Dress smart, do not lather yourself in aftershave.

"Did the injury make you lose last job ? they can.t do that ........."

If they've been seen to have done everything to keep your job but are no longer able to do the job due to the injury then legally they can sack you under ill health capacity.

But usually they allow you to return to employment once better and theres no malice behind it

A lot of the above is good.

Don't be surprised if they ask a series of follow up questions to an answer you give.

Also if they offer you a drink etc make sure you offer to take it with you or to the kitchen, they see it as the type of person you are. Lots of companies like to be sneaky and test you in different ways

When they ask you if you have any questions at the end ask them something.

You can ask things like:

what would being successful in the role look like?

If they could describe their ideal person for the role what would they be like?

You can use these to either gauge how you've done, in particular if they mention things you've said or you can then use it to lead into things you can add .

Also, ask them something like "why would I want to work for you?" Let them sell themselves to you.

Chat to the person taking you to the room. Nice day, weather is good/bad...Makes you a person they know.

Eye contact but not staring....smile a lot!

All positives. What’s your weakness? Don’t say kryptonite. Make the negative positive...team team team!

Try and relax, the more relaxed you are the more natural you will be and the interviewer will see the real you.

Prepare a few questions, I’ve interviewed loads of people over the years and the number of candidates that don’t ask questions is astonishing.

Think of the questions that they are likely to ask you based upon your cv and career to date. Put yourself in their shoes, what would you ask you?

Don’t be late and good luck.

This is a fantastic bit of advice. If you can link this to news of future investment or developments within the company you’re interviewing for, I think it would go very well. With one of my positions I asked about future visions for the department and role expansion as the investment portfolio grows. I don’t think they’d been asked something like that before, but seemed impressed that I asked a question on the matter.

As a person who’s interviewed many many people....I wouldn’t like that!
