Sorry, boring work related thread....
Can you get fired for turning down a promotion?
Would you cut off your nose to spite your face and leave the company if the promotion offer was far from acceptable?
I've stood my ground and told my manager I'm not happy with it, and now I'm waiting to hear back. I'm pretty sure the offer won't change at all.
Anyone had a similar situation and come out smelling of roses??

"No but surely that's when you start to negotiate??
I'm pretty sure you can't get fired for not accepting a promotion, but let's face it it doesn't look good does it?" .
The manager has taken my concerns to HR, but knowing this company the offer will be a take it or leave it |

I doubt you get fired for that, although a small company (If sneaky) could in theory rearrange and reshuffle so that your current job merges/overlaps with the one that you're turning down. |

I'd think they'll just do this. More work for the same money, just to be arseholes.
Maybe speak to HR or a union. |

I doubt they could fire you but if it's as a result of a restructure and your original role no longer exists then it may make things difficult for you. Used to be lots of useful info on the Acas website. I'd have a look there x |
