Think England will sweep Argentina by at least 14 sadly, although the Argies will smell an upset with Englands slow start

Still looking like its between New Zealand, Wales & England thus far

Hmmmm dilemma

I was supposed to leave home at 6am, was planning on getting to my mums in time to watch the game, but due to a rather unsettled night, I didn't get to sleep til gone 4am

So do I set out now & listen on the radio

Or stay here, watch the game on TV then leave?

Yeah, can't help but feel more work needs to done around the new rules... already at a record level of reds in a WC.

Not sure if its a coaching thing, or poor understanding by some of the more seasoned players... but a red this early will likely dictate the outcome of what would otherwise have been an entertaining game.

Agreed. Lawes said in an interview recently that it makes no difference to him as he hits low, that's what all players have to learn to do.

Probably the second thing, seasoned players going into auto mode rather than thinking about what they are doing before they do it

One as a direct result of concussion, others from other dangerous types of tackles

Any laws that can reduce the risk of this happening can only be a good thing

"Red for a head shot

Health and safety gone mad

Its all part of the fun getting a shoulder to the napper

There have been a number of deaths of young rugby players in France recently

One as a direct result of concussion, others from other dangerous types of tackles

Any laws that can reduce the risk of this happening can only be a good thing

thats the risks you sign up for would a red card have stopped that no

Its just poor technique and coaching

What an odd question - the red card is the punishment for dangerous play "

10 mins would serve same purpose

Clearly not. High tackles were a yellow card previously.

Or maybe you should spend your time there if we score when you're in there!

"That was a dominant try, the ball carrying and movement was devastating

I liked it, great scrum then drive drive drive

Tom Curry has been great every time I've watched him, Youngs had a good game too

Ford is playing really well

And Underhill, he’s a fair sized unit "

Player of the match, told you he was good

But we won. 3/3 and into the ¼s

The law states a shoulder to the head is a red card because of the level of danger and rightly so "

have you ever heard of the phrase “Rugby is a game for hooligans played by gentlemen “ having played rugby for a large chunk of my life ! I love the brutality of the sport, and yet when the games over we all shake hands

The players are so big now it must feel like you are being run over by a rhino, the people who make the rules are just trying to keep people safe, no one seriously wants to see anyone get hurt, personally I want to see a good match with lots of running with ball in hand not big hits that make my teeth rattle just watching them

Sign of a good team is to win....and win comfortably....without being at their best.

Apart from the one lapse that was an excellent defensive performance....winning all the tackles behind the Pumas gain line so they never got front foot ball

players have always been big ! Jonah Lomu was the biggest lump around ! I know it’s for protection for the players but takes away the brutality of the game for me ! I miss a good old rugby scrape !!! Lol

Tackles are and always will be allowed. Shoulder shots to the head will not be. There's a massive difference.

Re Japan..

Interesting article in the Times sometime last week.. Many of their squad have played very little club rugby over the last 12 months to 2 years only training and training and training.

Some grumbling by clubs because they couldn't play star players..

Seems the Japanese may have had a well thought out motive to progress as far as possible..

Could be the beginnings of NFL style rugby where top plates may play no more than a dozen matches per season..

Similar to cricket: England players on central contracts very rarely play for their nominal county teams
