Profiles that describe themselves as "attractive" or "hot" in their text.

Now the question is, if beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is putting this on your profile going to make a difference?

I prefer others to tell me how they perceive me rather than self-promote.

No different from half the people on here describing them selves as intelligent or professional or single or honest when they are clearly not.

It helps you get a good idea what someone is like when they do these things and you thin k otherwise so you can just pass them by.

I think it sounds presumptuous. These people don't know what I find attractive, let's face it, we all find different things attractive.

Personally I find honesty, time, respect and the value placed on the trust between people far more appealing and attractive than a pretty face and body.

Surely it's how a person feels about themselves that is most important? I like when people have a certain level of confidence. If they feel attractive, then that is great. If someone disagrees, it's of no consequence. People get berated for having confidence at times, especially on here, yet when they behave all insecure and keep saying they are ugly, they are told they are gorgeous and should believe in themselves. Go figure.

My old username was foxy_foreigner but I kind of misunderstood word foxy...I thought it means being sly as a fox rather than being attractive. I would never call myself foxy if I knew what it means

There’s a fine line between confidence and arrogance. I’d avoid anyone who told me they were attractive. I decide that for myself as I have particularly weird tastes.

Attractive to me, is not necessarily attractive to someone else. I prefer more substance.

I think if someone feels that they are attractive, then there is no harm in them saying it. I don't see it as arrogant either. Merely another positive trait that someone sees within themselves. If other people see them as arrogant, then that is their choice. Just like we all have differing opinions, we all make our own choices on how we percieve certain profiles. Some will be drawn to it, some will be put off. The joys of fab

What ia worse is people looking for someone hot.

How am I to know if I am hot or not to that person/couple?

I'm just an average guy, not sure if I'm hot. Definitely haven't just fallen out of the ugly tree hitting every branch on the way down either.

Anyone with any common sense knows beauty isn't just skin deep.

I'm attracted to all sorts, but it's usually a quirky or cheeky personality that wins me over.

I generally go by the resting heart rate perimeters and recovery times when I'm training.

I agree though, the term can be ambiguous and is often open to interpretation.
