Are there any left? In the ‘70s after watching Starsky & Hutch or The Sweeny, being a detective was a glamorous job. Cop programmes now just show the grind of the job.

I’m too young (and I don’t get to say that often) to know when everyone wanted to be an astronaut and even things like a racing driver seem to be more about training and PR appearances than the fun stuff.

What are the glamorous jobs you dream of?

Playing video games and chatting to people. It's what the site Twitch.tv is for.

.

When I was younger I thought PR and Journalism were two incredibly glamorous fields - smooching the celebrity circuit, throwing fabulous parties and drinking copious amounts of champers while wearing designer clothes. I know some who are like that but the reality is very different.

You had obviously been at work in Morrisons Harehills last week. Everything swapped about. To make it even more complicated, as well as my usual £100 of groceries, my son asked me to buy orzo, lactose free milk, coconut fat and ras el hanoush. Took me ages !

People who know me think my job is glamorous, I get to travel and meet famous people etc. But it’s just a job and has shit moments and early starts.. same as every other job.

Sometimes I’d love a desk job..

Grass isn’t always greener.
