If it was a 72 VW beetle, or a 66 Kharmann Ghia. Then a VW any day.

Had more Fords than any other model currently drive an Eco Sport never had any major issues with a Ford so will stick with them. Think VW are over priced.

Ford has done me well over the most of my driving years. Although I love the Honda I have now and my next will probably be Honda. But I've had a 1.6 Mk1 Focus, 2.0 TDCI zetec mk3 Mondeo and a 2.2 TDCI Giha X mk3 Mondeo. All have been great to drive with lovely handling. All have been reliable and well built. Very easy and cheap to service myself and make repairs. Also very easy to get your hands on parts. You also get a lot of spec as standard with Ford (oh I do miss my electric heated front screen). Also due to their popularity cheap to purchase.

Now VW never owned one, here's why. Great cars like the Ford's. No doubt also lovely to drive (enjoyed a couple of test drives when looking). Good reputation for reliability. I don't care for badge snobbery, so badge doesn't factor for me. Simply why not, they are not the best bang for your buck over Fords. Higher purchase prices. Less things thrown in as standard. Higher insurance prices and higher cost for parts. So yes lovely cars but Ford's are rather good too and far better bang for your buck.

Its not as compelling for the exaggerators to jump on I guess. Hang on advice from a friend says I should say VW then claim to have a Bentley Continental GT or a Lamborghini Huracán (apparently VW own both).............Confusing guys which one should I pretend to have????

neither, something from japan, imho ford and vw take the piss with thier build quality in comparison, my last car was a honda, over 200k and no big bills, even missed a few services and it didnt seem to mind, try that with a ford or vw, oh and i used to work for ford aswell
