Watching the athletics and the long jump finals. How do they measure the distance jumped? When the athlets land the sand goes everywhere so what point is used to measure distance jumped? |

Yes, I would think so too but I was wondering where in the pit do they measure to. Not easy to see where the heels have landed once the rest of the body hits the sand and obscures the original heel marks. unless the technology picks up instantaneously measure heel placing on landing and retains that measurement. |
