Apparently it was too expensive for them to continue making the original series, but I loved it anyway

I'm not sure how puppets can parody Trump any more than he already parodies himself, but I'll certainly see what they try.

At it's peak the original series had 15million viewers per episode. But by it's end it had died on its arse and had a fraction of that number. The material got stale, the jokes awkward.

The only issue I can see is trying to parody Trump and Johnson when they are parodies in thier own right.

Yeah I think it had ran it's course at the time, but it's the kind of satire that is badly needed just now.

The article doesn't say when it's starting does it?

Long overdue, can't wait to see what they do with corbyn, apart from just having him sat on a fence down his allotment unable to decide whether he wants to grow British or European vegetables

It's definitely needed now, will put an amusing spin on all the crap news of late.

With advances in tech etc it's probably easier/cheaper to produce.

I think at the time it was rather, for some, "alternative" but today is potentially a tonic for all..

No puppets needed, just stand Boris, Jezza, Farage & Trump on a stage & tell them there's a prize for the biggest idiot.

Finally! And it looks like it’s at an advanced stage and ready to go. I think there has been talk a couple of times over the years, but it never got anywhere because the puppets were so expensive to make.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

The picture of the Putin puppet in bondage gear and the line about Trump's anus tweeting show us what they are planning.

It's being written in American and recorded here. I wonder if the American writers' room approach will make it more vicious or end up making it too tame?

I always thought it was a little hit or miss, but when it was good it was on the mark

If it has someone like Chris Morris or Armando Iannucci linked to it, I would seriously pay to watch it. But I fear it'll come back a lot tamer than the original, so no teeth.

The pilot has been done and it's being shopped around to find a network to get it greenlit.
