When I have a decent-ish nights sleep, I’m sleepier than when I don’t sleep at all?

I have stuff to do, and totally can’t be bothered.

Your body craves more

Ours is not to reason why

Ours is but to do and sleep

I have stuff to do or I would - didn’t get anything done yesterday as O is colicky, but he’s actually asleep just now so I should really be getting on with things. But might just have a wee snooze xx

It’s because you’re used to the deficit and the one decent night was only a head start to being well rested. That was me yesterday. I hate it!

Usually means you've slept too much , I get headaches on my day off when I've slept in .

Your body does get used to a certain sleep amount and patterns, so it's not used to more sleep than usual . Hope this helps you xx

Well I read a article before where there is actually many different scientific camps about sleep.

1. The age old everyone needs 8 hrs

2. Actually our body only needs 4 hrs at a time and that we should do this on a 8 hr rotation. However modern living does not really allow this.

3. A series of 40 min poor naps through out a 24hr period is more beneficial

4. You should never sleep before it’s dark and always wake to natural light no matter how long or short that sleep is.

They done studies with different ranges of sleep and then tested subjects ability to complete tasks and found that shorter bursts of sleep allowed people to complete the tasks more successfully. They also found the was a veriation in levels of sleep need between those countries that saw a lot of day light and those that didn’t
