Erotic photography meets the canvas

Hey,

I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has had their erotic images printed onto canvases. I’m hoping to sort one out as a present but I’m not sure where to start with finding a company that will take on the job given the background of the image (nothing illegal but controversial).

Has anyone done this before and which company did you use?

Ta x

My OH is a photographer. And like most, he uses professional print labs that aren't available to the general public to print more risqué imagery. They see boudoir work all the time so it's no big deal for them.

London

To be honest most photo print companies are used to the occasional erotic shoot or amateur porn. They're pretty much the first thing people shot when cameras were invented, so I wouldn't worry too much about finding a place. I'm a photographer myself and people I knew in the print business were photographers too. They care about the process and respect the art even if it's not to their taste.

Obviously an online service will probably be easier for you, but look for photography printing companies rather than somewhere like Boots or Happysnaps.

Are you printing in B&W or colour? I did a nude shoot in B&W some years ago and found they looked far better as a framed print than on a canvas, clearer and better defined. Just a thought, but forgive me if I'm being a photo snob ha!
