Whilst i sympathise with the holiday makers who've been inconvenienced, left out of pocket or stranded let's not forget about the 9000 people who woke up this morning to learn that they no longer have a job.

It's shit how it's the little people that suffer because of the gross business negligence by the rich in this case

News reported that they were still taking bookings up until yesterday? Who the fuck would be so stupid as to book with them ?

The way they reported the last flight coming in, you would think it was the last flight out of Saigon, ffs..

A sad day indeed. Thomas Cook have served me well over many years.

couple, us we him her.

So I am literally poised with my finger over the button to book a holiday.

Through loveholidays.

However the flights are with Tui and after doing a bit of googly interweb searchthings

It seems that TUI are partly tied in with Thomas Cook.

So am concerned about booking the holiday with Tui flights next September.

Am I being paranoid or is it sensible to hang on a bit and wait for the Thomas Cook dust to settle??

The best bet is to wait before booking for a while till things settle down.

Choose ABTA and ATOL protected holidays if you're worried, and yes it must be soul crushing for people who lost their job.

Not sure if this extends to holidays, but if you pay even part of a purchase on a credit card, the credit card insurance will cover you.

If full package booked flights and accommodation can claim back of atol abta ...but will take a while so unless you have the cash still lost the holiday ...if flights only can claim off Insurance dependent on excess or credit or debit ...we booked Alternative flights and paid by debit card ...the bank have initiated chargeback claim for us flying out in 9 days xx

Shocking and such a shame for all involved, it’s not long since Monarch went under, we ended up flying back with Miami airlines from Spain when that happened, there will be no airlines left shortly flying into Almeria, we will have to move here lol.

You would be crazy not to book on credit card these days that’s for sure although even if you have it still leaves you with a ruined holiday

Supposed to be flying home today but flight changed to tomorrow. Holiday reps still working and have been brilliant, although you can see how distressed they are. Hotel staff have been really good. Keeping rooms and all inclusive till whenever we finally leave. Can't praise them enough. No panic just getting the holiday makers through a difficult time and themselves xx
