If every single person in the whole world went out tomorrow and filled a bin with litter.
Would it save the planet
Obviously we would have to get rid of the bags.
But if we could get rid of them in space or something like that surely that's all it would take.
Just a thought I'm pissed

Matter can neither be created nor destroyed. Or the energy in a closed system cannot. But it can be transformed.
But the problem for man (not the planet as such) is the build up of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere due to us processing, heating, farming, deforesting etc..
Clearing up bags etc won't save us. Might save whales etc that swallow them but warming seas will do for them too.
Unfortunately to jetison the rubbish into space would also create vast amounts of pollution. Simply buy less, pick up litter locally, have less kids and live like a peasant.
You might then contribute less to a runaway heating atmosphere.

If we all just picked up our own litter and a few pieces more it would make a tremendous difference, if only.... |

But what happens next?
80% of recyclable plastic goes to the Far East
(You put that bottle in tbe green bin...job done)
But those countries (vietnam, indonesia, thailand...), despite accepting the waste, can only deal with 30% of it.
So that gets recycled, but the rest mounts up.
Eventually the country goes "fuck this" and chucks it into the sea.
The problem is that we are producing more llastic than we can recycle |
