What makes a popular thread ?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Depends, simple threads like yours where you dont have to think about it.
Ones that are genuinely interesting that you can get your teeth into.
Ones that cause controversy.
But seeings as i type on nearly every thread except football and politics doesnt make any odds to me |

Sometimes its like this.......
Who starts it
The context
The subject
The mood of the forums on the day
The first response will often lead the way of the rest of the responses
Other times none of that is relevant |

I prefer threads which invite enthusiastic thought exchange on pretty much any topics. These threads usually make for far better reading and involvement compared to those which descend into stand-off postulating where harsh words become the avenging weapon of the weak trying to force fit their opinions…….!.

I dislike ranty threads, and ones that stir or try to polarise groups of people.
Oh and footy, religion and politics, cos lets face it - it's done to death on the telly as it is.

...so on that minimalist and sweeping statement of my dislikes, everything else is a like
I think a good measure of blarney makes a thread go and go and go too
