Mirena- immoral support needed!

Having my 4th and final Mirena replacement tomorrow and I'm bricking it! So much worse than a smear and I know I'll have a couple of days of cramps, which will probably overlap with my appointment at the hospital for the specialist to look at my boobs to decide if I need mammogram or ultrasound.

I really prefer taking my clothes off for strangers who are going to do nice things to me.

Could someone kindly remind me to suck it up and crack on with it please?

Take pain relief prior to your appointment. Try and relax or it will make it worse. Maybe try rescue remedy or if you don't have to drive have a alcoholic drink

It’s worth the few minutes discomfort and have ibuprofen/paracetamol at the ready. Go home and rest for a couple of hours

Good luck!

Somewhere over the rainbow...

I’m having mine done next Friday - along with a bunch of other stuff while he’s up there!

Good luck x

Thanks folks. Driving myself there but getting a lift back from kind neighbour. Ibuprofen at the ready, plus the required pantyliners, bleurgh. Honestly, I prefer rummaging in my nether regions to be done in the dark

Had one recently

Was far less uncomfortable than two rounds of ivf, but when you have had that many folk around your bits nothing bothers.

Good luck

Few painkillers and a large gin when you get home xx

Buy yourself some comfort food and just think about getting in your pyjamas and eating it under a blanket once you get home. It's not fun but then you're good to go for 5 years! Surely that's worth it eh?

I took paracetamol an hour before, plus took hot water bottle and put on my stomach throughout the procedure, stopped the worst of the spasms even starting.

Good luck!

Well today was a bust as she couldn't find the threads, so I'm being sent to the family planning clinic! I was so anxious my blood pressure was 164/110, so obviously not looking forward to having to do it again! Although it was more comfortable having the speculum inserted this time, small mercies and all that!
