People who blocked you commenting on your threads

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

After reading a comment on another thread and having had the same experience I was wondering about this.

The rules say "Do not use the forum to try and contact people who have BLOCKED you"

But blocking someone doesn't mean that you don't see what they write on forums and vice versa.

So what about people who put you on block for whatever reasons and still decide to comment on your threads or comments you made in a thread?

This has happened to me before and personally, I wanted to tell them to fook off. If I'm not 'permitted' to talk to them, why are they allowed to do the same?

Thing is, once they've blocked me, I can't block them in return, forcing that rule upon them.

What do you all think? Or do I misinterpret the rules?

They can respond to threads but what they can't do is try and contact you through the forums or ask on them about why they have been blocked

You can block people that have blocked you if you want by going to your block list and manually entering the username

You can counterblock people, go to your block list and manually type their username in there.

the way i read it is don't try to use the forums as a way of personally contacting someone who has blocked you.....

if it is a forum topic i think everyone has a right to a view....

I think by replying to threads it's a way of contacting the person. But that's just me.

I didn't know about going to the block list and do the blocking from there. Thanks very much!

This came up just yesterday evening in another thread.

It is perfectly permissable to post on the thread of someone you have blocked.

You just can't use it as an opportunity to ask them to 'Unblock' you.

Or just search for their profile and even tho you can't see it there is still an option on the left to block them

If someone goes to talk with you directly via a thread then report it. Other than that, They can write on whatever thread they like.

Blocking's a power trip for some people. I've come across profiles where I've been blocked and then unblocked just so they could perve on my profile.

Just ignore them.

Get the frustration of it..but don't agree with you..sorry...its an open forum. Just ignore them or alternatively...tell em to "fook off!". x

Its funnier in the chat rooms where people say 'can you ask (username) why i'm blocked' and then this other person asks why they have blocked a specific user..

This ^^^

Lots of people get confused with this rule.

Once a person puts up a thread or post up then it isn't yours anymore.

Anyone can answer, within rules of course.

it's not MINE anymore? shocking lol

I can see that happening especially when things get out of MY hands haha

Fair enough. 'Tis the rules, so be it. Personally, I find it weird that people block someone for sometimes unknown reasons and then still have the cheek to give their 2 cents to what the person has to say. If you don't like them, leave them. Just my opinion.

okay.. so just a thought for you....

if i asked a general question about the current main topic of the day, should those who you have blocked not be as entitled to an opinion as everyone else?

when you put it like that it does seem like a bit of madness.....

if people grate you that much, just don't reply to them... a nice way to deal with it...

Of course they're entitled to their opinion. But not on my thread lmao! Nah, they don't bugger me too much it's just a thought I had when I realised it was happening to me. I just find people like that a bit ... well ... weird lol

Now let's get back to the 'fuck off' option Permitted or not? Is 'Feck off' allowed? Father Ted used it a lot and he was a priest after all

To be honest if everyone was banned from speaking to anyone on a block it could be we all end up talking to ourselves

Don't forget people have mail filters going on, so a lot of people will be blocked for that, it would make it very sad if someone couldn't answer on a forum just because someone has say single men blocked from mailing them.

Best thing to do is ignore anyone you don't want to answer.

Just to clarify this is not about personal preferences and mailing lists. This is about people who for whatever reason put you on BLOCK by pressing the button.

Blocking and partaking in the forums are completely different for me.

Blocking is used for people who have messaged and we don't wish to meet for play. Or maybe guys/couples are a bit pushy, or for those who insist on saying good morning every day, after about the third day I get pissed off and block.

On the forums, there is only a minority of people that I wish to meet but I may enjoy reading their views and interacting on the forums, either agreeing or disagreeing. Its about debate for me. I can interact with someone on a forum that I don't particularly warm to on a personal level. Its rather childish to think that just because you don't like someone that you can't put forward your views on something they may have said in discussion.
