It's a fine line though and I certainly don't think lying is any more acceptable (it's actually worse) but if you're in the public eye you also have to be wary of making ill advised inflammatory remarks whether they be in jest or not.
Mind you that said, Boris' letterbox comment doesn't appear to have done him any harm  |

It's a fine line though and I certainly don't think lying is any more acceptable (it's actually worse) but if you're in the public eye you also have to be wary of making ill advised inflammatory remarks whether they be in jest or not.

Boris is bloody bulletproof. It's actually scary. I'd rather it was against the law to lie when you're in power than offend people on twitter. The latter gets more attention. I want it to be equal. |

Having to apologise and not standing as an MP is bit over the top at all. Our debate and discourse in general, and particularly over Brexit is so toxic it is only going to take one idiot to act on such language for someone to get killed. Language is important. All sides should try to detoxify the debate not ramp it up. |

When Brexit is finally done, *however* it concludes, we need to come back together as a country, and heal the wounds and division which have happened over the last few years. Whether my side/ your side/ whoever’s side ‘wins’ in the end, it’s worth jack shit if half the country hates the other. The person who made this comment should be ashamed of themselves. |
